In 1997, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright appointed Mr. Craig to be one of her senior advisors, and he served the Secretary as her Director of Policy Planning during the years 1997 to1998.
For five years (1984-88), he served as Senator Edward Kennedy’s Senior Advisor on Defense, Foreign Policy and National Security issues.

That is an interesting comment. When I got out of the Navy, (Swift Boats 1965-66) and went back to college, many of my pals were Vietnam vets. Seldom did we talk about our war experiences. Friday night pizza and beer affairs were mostly involved with discussions of how bad the FortyNiners were that particular year or school, or politics or a million other insignificant topics. When war experiences did enter the conversation, as I recall, the focus was ususally on something funny or crazy that happened.
I have been around a few guys though, who are obsessed with their Vietnam experience...it is all they can talk about. It's like the only thing that every happened to them of any importance. I have always viewed these vets as having either a character flaw, or as being NUTS!
Kerry strikes me as the latter, and I think he is crazier than Al Gore, who in my opinion, should be in an institution.

I'd say he's one of the Hate America First crowd. He's arrogant and spoiled and probably thinks of us as subjects. I'd say his father was a communist, as was Al Gore's father. Kerry may just be clueless, I don't know.
I tend to agree. Both John Kerry and Al Gore seem crazy. In a way, this is a good thing because they are transparent.
The dangerous one is Hillary. She's just as socialistic but knows how to hide it. She wasn't raised by communists, so she knows how to appear normal and level headed, and hide who she really is.
I graduated in '73, the year the draft ended. It was strange having the draft end just as I graduated. After seeing the Vietnam War portrayed on network TV every night since I was 10 or 12 I was more or less a little peace-nik. Or perhaps more aptly a little scared-nik. I hate the media for the lies they told then and even more for the lies they tell today.
I know what you mean about vets not talking up their war stories. Since about '81 my best friends have been VN Marine vets (through no pre-meditated choice). Although a good scary story might be told they never brag about their 'deeds.' They don't say much at all to non-vets unless they know and trust them very much.
My dad was the same way. He was a WWII Navy vet who served on a ship in the Pacific Theater. I only know of one story he ever told me and, apart from his presence on the ship, had nothing to do with himself. He said he never saw much action but looking back on things now I'd have to think that just being on the sea, in the Pacific, in WWII would have been enough to make you ponder what life is about. At any rate it was a subject he rarely spoke of.
I agree that Kerry is nuttier than Algore. I said that just the other day. And I think he actually lies more than Sick Willie though not as skillfully. There's two things about him I thought weren't possible.
Here's a tagline I started using in reference to Clinton. One more thing that seems even more apt for Kerry.

Thanks for the article. The quotes from George Schutz and Donald Regan never got past the media firewall. All we heard was the left's side of things in those days.
