We're just getting back to our roots. Our FFs slung more mud during and even after campaigns, than most people know about.
"The Blogspirator believes that, in essence, Estrich is describing the upcoming planned Democrat scorched earth campaign. It's possible that the MoveOnForAmerica.org ads will be cited as a "cause" for the upcoming Democrat ads, but Estrich let the details slip before the Furlogh & Sharpton ads were even released."
BINGO.
Companion article with a thread worth reading:
New soft-money group to launch anti-Kerry ads
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1207040/posts
After some discussion, most of us have become very sceptical of that 527 -- they may well be a deliberate Dem attempt to discredit Republican 527-s, including the SwiftVets, by being so totally off the wall.
Does the blogspirator talk about himself in the third person all the time, like Bob Dole or 'Jimmy' from that episode of seinfeld???
It will be interesting!
You don't need to go negative when you're 11 points ahead.
Stinks of DNC dirty tricks.
Campaigns need to go negative when they're 11 points behind, like Mr. Kerry is about to do.
The Democrat Party is going to go nuclear - and since 527's are not transparent, Mr. Soros might even be the source of the funding for this "new" 527.
Something is fishy.
I think this is a communist 527 that is in Kerry's corner and they are trying to provoke a backlash against Bush.
There's a real 527 GOP group about to release some whoooouuuup ass on kerry soon. They have close to 50 Million - that's $50,000,000 raised so far. The biggest donor is the owner of the San Diego Chargers who is also a good Rush friend !
I was trying to find some info about Stephen Marks and couldn't, beyond the claims at the website of this new org.
This is the first time I have read that he really made some ads during the Bush/Gore campaign.
So, maybe this organization is legitimate, but I really think, their ads are not effective, and their approach will only serve to allow the Dems to use them against us.
The Swifties ads are pure class, because they are true and they themselves have tremendous credibility, because of who they are.
Stephen Marks should give money to the Swifties, so they can run their ad in more places.
I don't think anyone is going to vote against Kerry, because of the proposed ads by MoveOnForAmerica, but I can see people voting against Bush, not to mention that the ads give ammunition to the Dems.
I just got to actually read what Estrich was saying -- talk about slime! But that will backfire on the Democrats.
I have a problem with a group that has misspellings on its webpage.
I don't like this at all.
ditto to what you said.
he should give hte money to the SBVFT... truth, not smears, are effective.
Not mean enough? Comparing Bush to Hitler? Saying that Bush lied and concocted a war to get himself and his friends rich? Those are "nice" things to say? The democrats have also embraced Moore and his pack of lies. I think the dems are mean enough to say anything.
I prefer that no Willie Horton type ads be run. It has such negative connotations, and the networks (60 Minutes?) will begin running special programs on it.
There will be editorials and news anchors blasting the GOP.
Any African-American support the party has will melt away.
It ain't worth the pain.
My feeling? Our plate is full already of contemptible actions on Kerry's part.
Bump
I concur - it sounds like a setup!
Another $55 million in 527 ads and we catch up to Moveon.
Marks is mentioned here in reference to the Buchanan love child rumor. He was once a Buchanan staffer.
http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0420/barrett.php
Jay Townsend and Stephen Marks, two ex-Buchanan staffers, recalled being questioned about the child by AP reporters. Ex-AP reporter Jonathan Salant remembers looking "at all the Buchanan campaign filings to see if there were any funny payments" that might be connected to a child cover-up. Bay Buchanan, who talked to Solomon "at length," says he pressed her about the payments.
Another 2000 mention (one ad is a 2000 retread)
http://cnnstudentnews.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/time/2000/11/06/stuff.html
Not to worry: the other side has something shocking of its own. Americans Against Hate, a newly formed group run by G.O.P. consultant Stephen Marks, is up in four states with a spot linking Gore with the Rev. Al Sharpton. Sharpton, says the announcer, admires Hitler (flash to photo of the dictator) and defends rapists and cop killers (video of Willie Horton-style mug shots). The ad asks, "Mr. Gore...what kind of unholy alliance will you have with Al Sharpton?" Another ad, sponsored by a mysterious outfit called Aretino Industries, tells us that the Clinton-Gore Administration has traded national security for campaign contributions and that China has "the ability to threaten our homes with long-range nuclear warheads." The video shows a girl plucking petals from a daisy, a takeoff on the infamous 1964 "Daisy" ad that suggested nuclear annihilation would result if Barry Goldwater won. Bush campaign officials called for the Daisy remake to be pulled (and some stations have done so).

Nashville Political Consultant Releases Song Blasting The Dixie Chicks: Half of CD Proceeds to Go to Families of Soldiers Killed in Action
Stephen Marks, a political consultant based in Nashville and Washington DC, has released a musical CD blasting the Dixie Chicks. The extremely catchy song along with its particularly biting lyric is called "You Don't Speak for Dixie." Unlike other recently-released songs supporting our troops in the wake of the Dixie Chicks controversy, Mr. Marks' song is the first to take direct aim at the female country/pop band. The song's combination of Rock & Roll, Country, and R&B, is certain to be loved by all Americans who were outraged by the Dixie Chicks' recent remarks and actions.
Highlights of the song [the first verse and chorus], as well as the lyrics in their entirety at www.downwiththedixiechicks.com.
The CD can be ordered by calling American Pride Records anytime toll free at (800) 925-1363. Half the proceeds will go to the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, the most prominent charity set up to help children of American soldiers killed in action. The charge for the CD is $5.99.
Mr. Marks, a political consultant for presidential, statewide, and congressional political races since 1994, has previously appeared on numerous TV and radio programs including "The O'Reilly Factor," "Hannity and Colmes" Fox News Now, The Jim Bohannon Show and dozens of others. Mr. Marks has also written about politics for publications as diverse as Penthouse Magazine and New York Newsday.
What follows are the lyrics of "You Don't Speak for Dixie", written by Mr. Marks:
Verse:
You Dixie Chicks sure play a dangerous game
When you're trashin' the country that gave you your fame
Fans of your music can't believe how bad you treat 'em
'Cause their loved ones are the soldiers who are fighting for our freedom
Chorus:
To call yourselves the Dixie Chicks is a slap in our face
To call yourselves the Dixie Chicks is such a disgrace
Cause you don't speak for Dixie, No you don't speak for Dixie,
Dixie ain't your place
Verse:
How dare you stand up on the stage in a foreign land
Babblin' on about things that you don't understand
Do those stupid words really come from your brain
Or were you just a spokesman for Sadaam Hussein?
Repeat Chorus
Verse:
Now since I'm such a nice guy I'll buy for you today
Three airline tickets one-way leavin' the USA
America will then become so much more clean
Without your nude pictures on some rag magazine.
America will then finally be rid of you
Cause you three sure ain't worthy of the red white and blue
Repeat Chorus

---The arrogant little Republican boys who have been strutting around New York this week---
We've listened to your blowhard liberal fantasies, Susan, for 3 and 1/2 years and it has become tiresome. The American people don't want all that tired old baloney. They just want you and your Liberal friends to go away. And we're going to make that happen this November to the extent we can.
This is a bad democratic party joke. While I enjoy good parody more than most people, this is just offensive.
