I'll play along also as devil's advocate. Our new line for the pundits on tv should be "Our guy was AWOL, yours was a Traitor in Paris, still want to play this game?"

Can someone explain to me what drills he missed?!

His pay stubs show that there were times in Alabama and other places where he made drill time for severals days in each of a couple of months.

If y'all are talking about the section of the story where it says Twice Bush signed documents that he would make drill time or face punitive action...THAT DOES NOT MEAN HE MISSED DRILL TIME.

Those look to be standard in processing and out processing documents that Airman signed for entrance and exit of the Air Guard.

Looks at the statement closely...
--The GLOBE claims: "Twice during his Guard service - first when he joined in May 1968, and again before he transferred out of his unit in mid-1973 to attend Harvard Business School - Bush signed documents pledging to meet training commitments or face a punitive call-up to active duty.--

One indicates that he signed the form when he entered..the other shows that he signed another when he filed to leave for Grad School.

This is where the Globe and the AP are missing this. When Bush filed for Grad School, HE ALREADY HAD THE NEEDED HOURS FOR HONORABLE DISCHARGE. There were no more training commitments to be met. And those were set for call up. As for the summer of 72...all that time was made up when he checked in at Alabama...at the assigned times.

Over a year ago there was an article that interviewed a guy who was a tech sgt at Ellington in Texas. He said when bush left in the Spring of 72...his paperwork informed that there were no open Flight Slots in Alabama..and he would be working alternate duty. It also stated that he was not show up until the date when he did.
Why is nobody talking about that?
Does anybody have that article?

Regardless...I ask again...WHAT DRILLS DID HE MISS....THAT HE DID NOT MAKE UP?

Well sure Beaver but they're starting to get desperate. And now they've sent Cahill below deck for kitchen duty so the RAT Patrol can take charge.

I am not saying Kerry committed war crimes, he said that about himself. It seems to me one a scale of what story is more important

A) A presidential candidate missing a guard meeeting 30 years ago.

or

B) A presidential candidate committing war atrocities.

I have to say that issue B seems a bit more important, yet how many articles are written about Bush's guard service and how many about Kerry's war atrocities?
