Can Islam change?
No.
Sure Islam can change... It can convert to Christianity.
Most likely, it will glow before it changes.
wishful thinking...
that would be my most basic desire, that they would embrace God's Grace in Christ and get out of the works, indeed terrible works, that mad mo deceived them with.
then there would be no need to have these battles ... and they would learn the New Testament love for the Jews (Romans 11:25-29). What percentage will abandon it after all they have seen, I do not know.
But, this will not happen until the Lord Himself has returned, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end. Amen.
Can anyone afford to wait?
No.
If the past and the present are indicators of the most probable future, that is.
Islam has had over 1300 years to keep pace with the standards normally judged to define "civilized". It has uniformly failed the test.
The only periods when this so-called "religion" has not been a blot on the civilized world is when they are decisively defeated to the point of humiliation.
They should be given the choice of changing or being eliminated.
I think it could be argued that what we're seeing is Islam going supernova as it hits the fan of modernity.
No one can change the Koran. So regardless of what temporary fadish interpretations and movements take place, there will always be fundamentalist islamic movements reverting back to its ultraviolent nature. Because that's what is written.
"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
"Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."
Winston Churchill
I'd have to say that Islam, in and of itself, cannot change. The people who practice the more moderate forms(although few) can change. They can see that Jesus Christ was sent to Earth as a man to die for their sins, was resurrected on the third day, and paved a way to God's grace with his sacrifice. That said...I doubt that many do.
or the ha'dith. I think they have to walk away from those books. of course, in Saudi Arabia, that invites death.
but colon pow thinks they have "religious freedom" in SA ...
That's be beautiful.
I saw Colon Powell say the opposite. Saudi Arabia does not have religious freedom.
As Greta might say, "Wuz up withat".
Well, what I meant was that they can be shown this truth. "see" was probably the wrong term to use in this instance.
Islam will not change itself. It needs some coaxing from the US military....
