Bush needs to think of these debates as if they were a kind of dogfight, like the ones he flew in the Texas Air National Guard. Kerry is a relatively good pilot/debator, and he has a whole series of lethal heat-seeking missiles under his wings. He is out to DESTROY Bush politically, so Bush has to fly smart, avoid the incoming, and maneuver his way behind Kerry so he can take him out.
All I know is that we better hear about Kerry's liberal record until we barf. No defense this time. Pure fun & gun offense!
Let's keep a count of how many times W uses the "L" word. I predict 7 times during the evening, at least 1 in the very first question he fields.
He has to reconnect to the people the way he did that day.

Hoping that W will let some righteous indignation (a la Zell) pour forth on the poseur. He owes it to the victims of 9/11, to our military and our allies who have paid the price in Iraq; and to all the people in the world looking to America to stop the evil that threatens to engulf us all.

President Bush needs to speak to the American people as if he HAS lost. Because only then can he freely speak with the heartfelt convictions he has without any hesitation. Like saying to everyone one of us that he cares for: watch out for this and for that, under this man. I may have put it wrongly. How is it said, "Once you've accepted your death, you can truly begin to live." I am paraphrasing it, but I think (hope it makes sense).
