Why change, because they are losing money; that's the only thing the French understand. They have lived off their colonies for hundreds of years and don't know how to be anything but parasites.

During WWI the French charged the Brits a $200 fee for each train car of goods brought in to fight the war. The Brits quickly decided they were fighting on the wrong side.

Paris is horrible. I have had some pleasant times along the Loire, in Provence, and camping in other back-country parts such as Normandy and the Massif Central. But after their behavior in the last couple of years, I will never go back there or buy any French products.

Rudeness is one thing; deliberate treachery and betrayal of an ally is something else.

"I've never understood why the French refuse to speak foreign languages. They are destroying their languages' usefulness by keeping it pure. One of the major reasons that English is so useful is that we steal words from other languages."

One reason that France stays involved with former colonies in subSaharan Africa is the similarity in their cultures.
Like other primitive tribal cultures, France is relatively impervious to outside influence, slow to adapt, and resistant to change. These are prime characteristics of Africa and a major cause of its continued status as a backwater cesspool of poverty, disease and corruption.

Notwithstanding the occasional luminary, France since the Enlightenment has been in a retrograde decline. The death of Jacques Derrida today is a reminder of how decadent and moribund this hapless country has become, and how oblivious they are to their own imminent demise.

France has ridden on the coattails of Britain and Germany for generations now, deluding itself by surreptitiously feeding off the strengths of these more vigorous neighbors, and preening in superiority over the rough and rustic men of America, to whom they owe their very survival as a state.

Yeah, a little humility, even at this late date, would be a welcome and totally appropriate posture.

In Germany, they are fine, but when they travel, the Germans make for MISERY

A German in a line at Disney World lethal object. Hold on for dear life to the kids and grandma, the Germans will throw them overboard to grab a seat on the monorail.

"In the 18th century, Horace Walpole wrote that he couldn't stand the French. 'I detest them for their misplaced air of superiority." Misplaced AIR, PC for stinky flatulent attitude.

I recall reading somewhere a long time ago that the french tried to keep their language 'pure' by outlawing english words that had crept into common use throughout europe. I had to laugh. They want to keep their language 'pure' and let in five or six million mooselimbs! How do you say Alah u Akbar in french over loudspeakers from all those mosques, I wonder?

"It criticised a lack of warmth and professionalism among staff, and a failure to regard the customer "

Well that's what they wanted, socialism and the equality it's suppose to bring with it when all it does is make everyone think they don't have to do anything except pass the buck(responsibility). So nothing gets accomplished. Nice, that socialism, huh (smirk)

France is still the world's number one tourist destination in terms of numbers. But the report concludes that this is meaningless as a considerable proportion are just passing through on their way somewhere else.

I thought that was Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta.

GEEEZ! Why do you think Kerry and the democrats love the French? It's because they are soul mates.
Both are first and foremeost ARROGANTS. Their ELITISM blinds them to all their failures. They are COWARDS who hide behind some nuanced view of the world so they won't have to face their ennemies. They talk, talk, talk because they love the sound of their pontifications. It's all about them. Nothing is their fault and all that is wrong in the world is America's fault....Oh, I almost forgot..they all stink.

"The Frogs are not going to change at least 1,000 years, probably more, of surly behavior"
Once again more proof how schizo socialists are like double talkin liberals. It was the French who told Marie Antoinette to "shove her cake" while shoving her into an early grave because of her arrogant surly attitude towards them YET centuries later they carry on the very traits they loathed her for. Can you say schizo's!

You can still visit Paris and Rome without even having a passport. Paris is said to be beautiful in the fall.

Maybe they'll buy some soap next.

Goerge Washington never bothered to waste his time by travelling to Europe. He understood that the future of mankind lay in the New World not the Old. Good enough for him, good enough for me.

Sadly, George Washinton has the unhappy distinction of having surrendered to the French.

This guy has it right on. I hope the French people really listen to one of their own, rather than just chuck this report in the circular file, thinking to themselves that they know better than this anyway. It will only further their erosion from the traveling world.

That was when the French were MEN and Catholic. Today they are all atheist homos.
