At "Gib's Aircraft Videos, PowerPoint's and other Pictures",
http://www.gibstuff.net/aircraft/Videos.html is a ZIP archive containing an excellent video of a C-130 deploying its flares. The swirls and twrils are clearly visible, and if the C-130 had ton or two of flares we'd probably see (correct me if I'm wrong) something similar to the awesome C-17 Globemaster III photo under discussion.
