A technical way of saying that the ignorant follow the herd...

If it makes the Dems stay home and not vote....then so be it! Psychologically they will feel better about this choice and I thank them for following this trend. Go Bush!

Kerry doesn't really stand for anything, but he hopes his supporters will fall for anything.

They certainly can't accuse Kerry of having substance and depth. This is what they get when their higest priority was 'ABB--anybody but Bush'. Look at the near-dozen Dem contenders and consider -- that was the best the Dem Party could muster to run?

You know, Bush supporters thought that Kerry bringing on board past Clinton advisors would help him, and actually they have.

Kerry was going south in polls until he hired former Clinton staffers who have helped him define his message. Granted, it's still a "wrong" message, but they've kept him from flip-flopping and now look at what he's done. We all said they wouldn't make a difference. Hmmmmm.....

re:

I recall the wisdom penned once by an observer to an 'anti-War' demonstration, who noted that the motley assembly represented mainly those whose political acumen was confined to taking part in 'anti-War' demonstrations.

The crowds look so impressive on TV news that the concept of running a proven 'anti-war' candidate must have seemed the ideal way to harness the masses to the Democratic ticket.

The 'ABB' scenario is playing itself out to it's logical conclusion, as Americans look downstream and realize that there's a big difference between leading protesters and leading America.

Precisely.

People mainly vote according to two guidelines-

1) Issues
2) Momentum

The folks on the Big MO swing want to be popular, and they want to vote for the popular candidate. This is why the MSM has been working so hard to make Kerry appear a contender. This is why they've had polls in the forefront.

Now I may look at polls sceptically when it concerns their actual numbers, but momentum is key. In that sense I realize the importance combating them and encouraging the "perception" we are winning.

That unlikable factor is catching up with Kerry.

I posted this on another thread about NJ last week but it's worth it again. I from a blue collar Democratic town in Central NJ where politics are 'all Democrat all the time'.

But this election cycle only a handfull of the elected officials are voting for KERRY.

All the lawn signs are local only. The only big one that would have Kerry and Bob Menendez on the top , had thier names cut off and only the plywood was showing.

The only national signs are 'BUSH/CHENEY'.
