The election is still a week off, but President Bush's camp is making strong predictions about the outcome.

Insiders tell us that the Bush-Cheney polling team believes that the president will win re-election 50 percent to 47 percent.

The WaPo had an article today where RNC & BC04 campaign insiders were supposedly 'grim' about polls in FL/OH while NYT had an article which basically gives Kerry up for dead. Jay Cost debunks the first as bogus and talks about the second in:

http://jaycost.blogspot.com/2004/10/news-of-day-for-10-24.html

BTW, I don't have anything to do with this blog and I always seem to promote it but the analysis is so current and stellar that I check it out several times a day.

I'm sticking with my 53-45% Bush win, but I'm still scared to death about the election results. Until I hear the networks say they project Bush the winner, I will not be resting easy. Heck, even after they say it I won't be resting probably due to the expected challenges.

"Wonder how that could be. The pundits just can't seem to call it either way"

Don't let ABC, AP, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC
give the election to Kerry like they did Gore

I did not say I want to get along with them I said I wanted to defeat them. They only disrupt the discorse if you let them. I don't.

I saw for calls for a zot becasue someone posted his opinion that because bush is below 50% AR in each battleground state, he will lose.

Is that disrupting? Is that contention debatable?

Calling for a zot is what was silly.

The WaPo article is a complete lie. The MSM is following orders from the DNC to do whatever they can to make this election appear close, so that Democrat turnout does not cave. They know Kerry is done, but they don't want to lose a lot of close Senate battles too.

"To crush the rats, to see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of their women."

How about this version?

"What is best in life?"

"To crush the Rats, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of the National Organization of Women!

I may have found my new tagline! :-D

"I know are not happy about the war but still have more faith in Bush to pull it off"

Who is ever happy about a war? There is nothing to be happy about when it comes to war. We cannot, however, stick our heads in the sand at expect the UN or any other organization to clean up the worlds trouble spots. This aint your grandmas world. We need to REMOVE governments that allow these scum organizations free range. Iraq IS a CENTERPIECE in the war on terror. It embodies a complete shakeup of the status quo in the middle east. In 10 years they will be looking at this as a BRILLIANT move. Count on it.

That is as long as JFK2 doesn't win the presidency and screw up all GW is trying to accomplish.

If people don't think the Iraqis are fighting for their freedom just look at the causilties they are taking. Bush has created the biggest piece of flypaper in the history of the world and it is drawing terroists by the hundreds. I want them facing trained equipped marines over schoolchildren and mothers. Thank God we still create people brave enough to fight them. Thank a solider.

Too close.

I'm also surprised the GOP has released their internals. Usually, releasing internals is something that the losing side does.

W is up in almost every poll, so I just don't get it.

Going on a troll hunt are you?

I am a newbie and I have been slandered a couple of times as a troll for completely ridiculous reasons. Apparently, the libs are not the sole possessors of the tin foil outerwear.

I realize that being new means you are going to get a lot of crap thrown at you now and then, but it is unfortunate and unproductive to disrespect a brother in arms.

Please note Cedric that I am not directing this to you personally but just a general notice to all who seem so susicious of new folks. It could be that we are just people out here fighting the good fight like the rest of you.

I simply do not believe the campaign Rove has run. It has been anything but great - The ads never came out in the force any of us thought, GW was terribly vetted for the first debate (which can Kerry a second pair of legs), the lack of any ground game on GW supporting 527's has been hurting us big times since January, the list goes on and on.

Rove simply didn't do his job. With the exceptional job GW has done in his first four years. With all GW has had to take on and handle - yet, he is in a life and death struggle with a washed up 20 year, rated #1 liberal is completely mind boggling.

We are going to win this, but it was way closer than needed to be.

Kind of curious why every post from you is daming with faint praise? You spend page after page in post after post damning the Bush camp and then end it with a throw away line like "we are going to win this..." Do you think you some how gain creidiblity if you spend 99% of your time bitching about Bush then pretend to be a supporter?

How about this. Instead of spending all your time bitching about Bush, how about you address all the GOOD news for Bush just once?

CO moves to solid Bush this week. MN and MI move from Kerry to toss ups. HI moves to toss up. Seems to me since the game is being played on Kerry's turf the people you should be calling inept are the ones running the DNC

Just what is your personal vendetta against Rove anyway? Come on, level for once instead of pretending to be a Bushie.

"The WaPo article is a complete lie"

Might not be a complete lie, the Post isn't usally has bad as the NYT, but I hope that they are worried about Ohio and Florida. Most polls have shown a very tight race in both states. A couple of polls have had Kerry in the lead in both states, of course some of had the President up also, so I hope that they are worried and should be. Now I think the Post, is painting a much worse picture than it is, I think the Bush team is confident it will win both Ohio and Florida. But I hope that Bush spends the last 4-5 days in Ohio and Florida, maybe a quick stop in WI or Iowa, but no where else.

You blame Rove while not mentioning that the MSM is worth 15% for Kerry by their defense of him against any attacks and their persistent sniping at President Bush. With enemies within like this, we would have lost WWII.

I know the WaPo article was a lie & complete disinformation to discourage Republicans. I find the NYT and Maureen Dowd articles more interesting in the sense they seem to be writing off Kerry already.

One more thing. I am sick and tired of all the nattering nabobs of negativity on this baord reguarding the war. If you think the Iraq war is expensive, guess the costs if these bastards detonate a small nuke in Boston harbor. We ARE on these turkeys every day. It will take years to shift the CIA from a Russian based organization to a Islamo-facist organization, just in time to shift it to a Chinese based organization.

GW is doing a great job. Period.
