October Surprise Foiled
Neal Nuze ^ | 10/26/04 | Neal Boortz

OK .. I GET A BIT "I TOLD YOU SO TODAY"

Yesterday the news broke about 380 tons of explosives that disappeared in Iraq. The International Atomic Energy Agency was raising quite a fuss over this, as was the American mainstream media. Boy oh boy, did the media love this story. After all, it really looked bad for Bush, didn't it? ABC and CBS hammered the story, as did MSNBC. But CNN? Wow! Did CNN love this story. They covered it at least 50 times yesterday.

Then, of course, we had the Kerry campaign jumping on the story. The Poodle called it one of the greatest blunders of Iraq. He slammed Bush for, as he put it, "failing to guard" the stockpile of explosives.

In yesterday's Nealz Nuze I wrote the following:

The IAEA says that they were monitoring the explosives prior to the war. Now they're gone. The IAEA doesn't know when they disappeared. They can't say that Saddam didn't remove them before the American invasion. They can't say that Saddam's soldiers didn't move them to another location after the invasion began. They just don't know.

Oh, you should have seen the email. I was a Bush crony. I was making weak excuses for Bush's failures in Iraq. I didn't do my homework. I was lying. Blah blah blah.

Well ... here's your "I told you so."

Last night we get a report on NBC news that the explosives were already missing when U.S. troops arrived at the storage location on April 10, 2003. The last time the IAEA saw the explosives was three months earlier in January of 2003. There is no way to know just when the explosives were removed. Sometime after the IAEA saw them in January and before American troops got there in April. Obviously this isn't a case of Bush failing to "guard" the explosives. By the time our troops got there they weren't there to guard. In other words, nobody failed to guard anything and there was nothing we could have done about it. They were gone when we got there.

Well .. .hold on. There is something we could have done about it. We could have invaded earlier! Get in there before the Iraqis had a chance to hide the explosives! Is that what the Kerry supporters are saying we should have done?

This was a "get Bush" story from the beginning. There have been some problems between the Bush White House and the head of the IAEA. This was supposed to be the "October Surprise." Drudge is reporting this morning that CBS was hoping to run with this story on Sunday's 60 Minutes ... two days before the election. The New York Times beat them to the punch ... and, unfortunately for the designs of the leftist press, in time for the truth to come out.

The facts are real and there is no doubt the so called "Mainstream Press" is in the back pocket of the Democrat Party and they are promoting their agenda for them. I have a habit of Channel surfing and last night all you could see when thumbing through the so called "MSM" stations were Democrat operatives.
This B. G. Burkett has the press nailed. For those of you who do not know him he is the guy who wrote Stolen Valor and I believe I am going to order this.
America has covered up long enough for the Communist that have infiltrated our government and if we do not take America back we will surely go the way of the old Soviet Union.

Sounds like NBC is ignoring the NBC story! Based on that previous post about today's Today show, Tim Russert is still referring to the missing weapons as an embarrassment. No mention of the discovery that they were missing *before* the US got there.

That is exactly what I heard this morning. NBC/MSMBC are slanting their OWN story for Kerry. They have dropped mention of the timeline! And are heavy on the emphasizing the missing part and how embarrassing it is!

The MSM is starting its final push to elect Kerry. We will start hearing the talk that momentum has swung in the direction of Kerry and the media-sponsored polls will start reflecting a Kerry shift. There is no objectivity, just bias and partisanship from the MSM. It is a sad state of affairs.

From what I hear this a.m., NBC is ignoring the NBC story.

That's exactly what I said to Hubby.

I just saw a complete segment on the missing exp on MSNBC at the top of the hour. Jim M. NBC Pentagon clearly pointed out that the stuff was missing when the 101st got there and that the IAEA had lost track about three months before.

Even if the explosives weren't there in the first place, it doesn't make any difference because this is all Bush's fault anyhow. John Kerry could have done it smarter. Wiser. More thoughtful. Better. With real allies. With the world behind him.

My gosh, I can hardly wait until this election is over so we can get on with the lawsuits, recounts and screams of rage from the Left!

Glad they caught up!

They missed last night, long after it was available.
(I knew, why didn't they)

Fox doesn't have anything on the web page yet, BUT the Fox and Friends team is hammering the NYT lie with the corrected information from NBC quite a bit, this morning.

I saw a Dem shill on one of the cable channels last night saying that it was even worse because these explosives could be considered WMDs and now they are in the hands of the enemy and it's all George Bush's fault!

Hmmm... But I thought there were no WMDs? And now we know (according to NBC) that a stockpile of WMDs was indeed there under Saddam Hussein as late as early 2003.

It was today's...she was making a point of how there was no mention of the story or NBC's findings on the front page, as opposed to the front page coverage the story received yesterday...

Calling Kerry the Poodle is extremely inaccurate. Poodles are loyal, intelligent, faithful and will protect you to the death. Also, as they age they don't look like a prune.

The only way this NBC report is going to get the coverage it deserves is if Bush talks about it.

Yea, but where is the rest of the Left wing MSM on this?? Perhaps there should be an election commercial with the MSM portrayed as ostriches with their head in the sand.
