Bush hit back on this in his first stump speech today. The RNC has issued a statement, and Rush just reported CNN has recanted the story now on their website.

I'm going to have to ask you to leave this thread immediately. Facts are not welcome here. :-p

Come back to reality, there will be no effective 'October Surprise' against Kerry, and certainly none from the Bush campaign. The 'OS' only works for Dems because the media gladly trumpets their charges nonstop and drag their feet in covering the refutation until after the election. Any GOP 'OS' would be immediately challenged, regardless of the truth, and any outside 'OS' will be ignored and then similarly challenged if needed. The swift boaters, if they truly have a 'DUI'-level story, have waited too long now. And frankly, anything revealed this late in the campaign, without time to react, is dirty pool. If a charge is worthy of consideration, it should stand up to scrutiny, and saving it to the last second is slimy and unethical, regardless of whether it benefits our side or not.

And, I no longer think that Hillary is waiting to be president. I think she has made another deal.

My theory is that Hitlery hasn't let the dirt on Kerry surface because she wants the one thing that will ensure her a lifetime grip on our country: a Supreme Court nomination. If Kerry gets elected, Bill Clinton will get elected to Secretary General of the UN (with Kerry's glowing approval) and Hillary will be appointed to the Supreme Court, along with 2 (or maybe 3) other liberals.

The FBI files that the Clinton's have will be enough to sway enough Republicans in the Senate to get the appointment. Look, she isn't likely to win election again in NY and she isn't likely to get elected president. Being appointed to the Supreme Court assures her a lifetime appointment, free of facing the peons at the ballot box, free to legislate from the bench, free to claim the collegial nature of the court as a reason to avoid commentary about her decisions, but the perfect background to comment on the "important legal issues facing American" (gay marriage, electoral reforms, etc.).

I'm about to put on the tin-foil, but I think most would agree that the tin-foil is almost exactly what is called for when dealing with these people.

Maybe Kerry's IQ is MUCH LOWER than we think? The RNC needs a commercial that says, "Senator, why can't you SIMPLY tell the truth?"

Thank you so much! I had not considered that the apparent "early" release of this totally fake story was due to early voting. I read that the NYT and CBS decided that the "story could not wait", or wording along those lines. You theory makes sense!!

GOOD let them make the CASE for GW...

• The "terrorists" had WMDs before the war started
• We weren't FAST enough during the pre-emptive strike
• Shouldn't have diddled daddled in the UN getting permission
• That WMDs REALLY did EXIST and 1/10th of them went missing
• That 348 TONS equalled 1/10th of the WMDs that we know of since we destroyed 9/10ths
• That the UN and the IAEA weren't capable or willing to guard the stuff properly (or sold it to line their pockets)

  Let JF'inK make the case that the WAR on TERROR is a dangerous war and needs to be fought!

  Again JF'inK is on the wrong side of the FACTS and he will die the same slow death Dan Rather did on Memo-gate.
