Yeah someone got excited.
I said "thanks, I guess" because I know those links, in addition to curling my hair, will give me heartburn.
It looks like the Azatlaner's have hooked up with neo-nazis.
In July while visiting Lake Oswego, Or, I stopped at a Japanese restaurnat for lunch and was the only non-Hispanic or Japanese there.
Was I surprised that the Hispanics like Sushi!
It's several factors -- many connected -- immigration to the USA was once a trickle compared with now --- but often a man would abandon his family after he found a new life in the USA -- such as a woman I knew who was a young mother with 9 small children at the time she was abandoned. Then --- like this woman did, the woman leaves the children with some relative --- in her case an sickly grandmother -- her own mother to go work in the USA as someone's cheap servant -- no health care benefits, no retirement --- just dirt wages she could send back home. This woman worked day and night -- cleaning one home during the day and taking jobs as she could get them -- babysitting, cleaning, laundry --- raising other people's kids while hers ended up mostly on the street. Eventually most of her kids turned to crime, drugs and alcohol -- being raised without a father or mother --- the USA dollars could buy them food but not guidance --- when this woman retired she never returned home because she didn't want to be near her kids who according to her were all bad and she was tired of bailing them out of jail and providing for them. There's a few generations by now of this --- children whose parents left them behind to find dollars in the USA.
Then of course is the drug trafficking --- Mexicans were pretty smug a couple decades ago --- they were the drug dealers, Americans were the pathetic drug users --- not a problem to Mexicans who for some reason figured only Americans could become addicts and that drug trafficking would bring them only big money but no social problems. They've been proven very wrong on that --- drugs are destroying Mexico far worse than they are destroying the USA --- they now have terrible addiction problems but the violence from the drug lords is staggering --- executions and shootouts on crowded streets in broad daylight --- in what were safe neighborhoods not long ago.
And of course the drug cartels have bought off just about all the politicians and government officials and corruption has become so bad that the police are involved in the tortures and murders of the members of drug cartels opposing theirs. Kidnapping for ransom has become a very serious crime in large Mexican cities --- and you never call the police because they're involved in this also.
NAFTA --- the maquilas were built far from the densely populated areas of Mexico --- tempted many people to leave their neighborhoods, villages, and families to live in a blazing hot desert with little water. The destruction of their social and family ties has had many terrible consequences. Then the maquila bosses realized the Mexican women are far more docile submissive workers than the men --- so men were left mostly unemployed and their women learned they were better off without that extra mouth to feed --- preferring to raise their children without the unemployed father around. Jobless men turn to violence and of course drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
Massive immigration --- half the state of Zacatecas is now in the USA --- further rips the social fabric apart --- villages are now half full --- just the elderly raising children whose parents left them to chase dollars in the USA.
All this is destroying the culture and traditions and of course the family. Extended families used to be a strong social support in Mexico --- family members took care of each other --- but many have found American welfare programs get them much more money.
I grew up in Caldwell. My mother still lives there, and I've visited a couple of times in the past year. She hasn't said a word about this. Now I'm worried about her.
Too late, he did that when he was Governor.
Welles Fargo and BOAmerica both have dedicated desks to deal (en Espanol, por supuesto) with "immigrants" presenting Matricula Consular cards. They also give out pamphlets and advice on electric bills, phones, schools etc. These Quisling traitor banks are leading the charge for the criminal invasion.
Any group that decides it's the master race seems to quickly develop a problem with Jews. La Raza means "The Race" --- and a lot of people don't realize that there are a fair number of Jews in Mexico --- most do well financially which is much of the reason for the hatred for them you find in La Raza.
I was born and raised in Idaho but left Boise 20 years ago because I couldn't survive the rollercoaster feast-famine economy there at the time. There was plenty of violence in Caldwell even then and for the same reason. I'm now in California and have often told friends that on a PER CAPITA basis I think there was as much violent crime in Caldwell then as there is on a typical day in the LA metro area now. A day seldom went by without a stabbing, beating, murder, robbery or other felony. I see things are getting worse.
I sort of take for granted the cartels and general corruption being conducive to a violent society.
But what I hadn't considered were the long term effects of abandoning children for work in the U.S.
This mess has been going on for so long I suppose there's a good generation or two of hardcore unemployable, uneducated young criminals wreaking havoc in Mexico.
Some obviously make it here and continue there criminal activities but I reckon many more remain where they are.
Your points about NAFTA and internal migration are noted as well.
Sorry about the typo--no mysterious Mr. NOBDOY wants illegal immigration.
NOBODY does.
Sorry--long day.
This was an interesting show because unlike many they didn't blame Americans or the USA --- even a priest on the panel blamed social injustice in Mexico and massive migration of people --- massive migration is the result of --- but also the cause of instability. Imagine one out of five --- and mostly the working age -- Americans fleeing the USA --- that would cause serious problems --- both to the USA and to the country they would be heading toward.
Montana's cherry crops and the Morrel mushroom season has been bringing the illegals here to Montana and while it is a very small percent now staying here, I saw tagging on an old building the other day, the first ever. It broke my heart. I'm praying for 20 feet of snow and blizzards hoping it will drive them back to the warmer climes. I don't have a problem with anyone wanting to come to America legally but I have a big problem with criminal aliens. Our police this pass summer pulled over a car with six illegals in it and arrested them. Some guy from Oregon who had hired them to come here to pick Morrels was up in arms over it saying the police was "targeting them" because they were Mexican. The fact that they were here illegally was apparently a mote point with him.
You are so much smarter than anyone here, perhaps you have accidentally stumbled into the Free Republic, I have noticed that democrats often question the mental abilities of anyone that is not drinking the kool-aid. Don't forget to restrain yourself, using your superior knowledge and societal realities.
HA!!
Yea well seems you hit one of the exceptions to one of the (many) rules we have on the right.
Unfortunately for you.
...ya hit a real nut. ;^)
It looks like the hispanic advocates will be going for quotas --- if the white kids aren't being incarcerated at the same rate, you better let the gang members run free. Here there were many drive by shootings at the schools, daily gang fights usually involving weapons --- but lock the poor violent darlings up --- and the hispanic activists scream 'racism'. The gangs are very disruptive in the education of the good kids --- but that apparently isn't what's important.

Advocates say jailing minority youths excessively is not healthy
"Our kids don't need to be in detention. They need to be in schools. They need to be in parks with their tios and tias, ninos and ninas (uncles and aunts, godfathers and godmothers)," said Raquel Mariscal of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, a national philanthropic group dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children.
Bingoooo.
That's so true; moreover, that exact tack is applied socieconomically, academically, and in just about every other area where The United States used to be way ahead of the rest.
Essentially we've let 'em dumb us all down in the name of eqaulity.
Nuts, just nuts.
Your clarity nailing this made my day, ya deserve a good beer & a fine ceegar.
...on me. ;^)
