on election day we have a polling place every 15-20 blocks

Us, too. Most of the people dropping off their children at the local elementary school (my poll) can't vote there. We have polls *everywhere*.

I pity the person wearing anything Kerry that steps into the polling place where I am watching.

That's called electioneering and it is not allowed.

LOL did it hurt?

Financially yes, I had to spring for a $.37 stamp.

It's terrible in FL. My son lives in Jupiter and has waited in line a couple of times only to have to leave before he was able to vote. Tomorrow he says he will wait until the bitter end if he has to. Why do they have so many problems? Sounds like they need to open up more polling places!

From your post: "Many people wearing Kerry pins were leaving the line before getting to the booth, we can't afford to do this!!! Florida is a must, it is pivotal, so stick around end get your vote in..."

Is that what you meant to say - ? What am I missing - or is this a put down on them -

just wondering -

Please explain how "early voting" works. I thought that tomorrow was election day. Why do some people get to vote early?

Imagine if they passed out free flu shots to those who got into line to vote. The line would run the length of the state.

"Why is it bad if Kerry voters don't vote?"

You gotta be kidding RIGHT?

People that worry about "La Migra" cannot vote anyways. Miami doesn't have the kind of problems that Califonia has.

Us Republicans can't afford to walk away and not vote.

Actually, you would be more effective if you yelled out the word for INS in Haitian Creole.

We will not see lines like these tomorrow, when regular polling places are operating.

I hope not. I have visions of the Dems rounding up crowds of folks and clogging the polling places with provisional-ballot-casters.

this is why lazy people stopped voting in the first place...

there will be all kinds of stories of long lines closing on people with the computerized ballots, because they take longer to do than paper ones. I think California will have a big problem too, with all those races and propositions.

Okay -

You should have said that in the first statement - because the way you worded it - went the other direction -

Thanks for answering -

Cheers -

Some states allow you vote for a period of time before election day. Same ballot, rules, and procedure, just early. I early voted several days ago in Texas after a 10 minute wait in line.

this may be their 2nd or 3rd time voting anyway so it's not as important to stay in line.

Huh?! Am I missing something? We want Kerry voters to get discouraged and not vote.

Early voting the whole city of 30,000 has one place open.

This thread and info such as yours are making me feel a whole lot better. I was worried about scenes like this:
