How to watch election night (NRO Spot predicts reporting fraud)

HOW TO WATCH ELECTION NIGHT [11/02 11:35 AM]

[snip]

7 P.M. EST

At 7 P.M., polls close in Georgia, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, and the east side of Florida and New Hampshire, sort of.

In New Hampshire, state law permits its 13 cities to keep their polls open until 8 P.M.

Because the majority of the state's polls have closed by 7 P.M., the networks have no problem considering this hour as the earliest hour of potential projection. However, with New Hampshire being a key swing state, a wise network would hold off a bit if the exit poll does not show an overwhelming winner.

In light of that, expect CBS (and perhaps some other foolish networks) to declare both Florida and New Hampshire for Kerry at this hour, even though the polls are still open...

Would the networks really be stupid/corrupt enough to again call FL before the panhandle vote closes at 8pm ET?

Well if CNN calls Florida for Kerry with no evidence...what channel are people going to be cutting back and forth to? CNN. It isn't about accuracy, it's about RATINGS tonight!

Rather might. This is his last election. As the fraudulent documents story showed, he is bulletproof, he can do any stupid thing he wants. If I were his producer, he wouldn't get any exit polling data.

Yep, but it won't matter.

You can count on reporting fraud. It'll be designed to help Kerry in the rest of the Country.

I love rhetorical questions.

It won't work in the FL panhandle two years in a row.

I already heard, this morning, a DC talking (empty) head say that Kentucky is the first state reporting. That would be true if perhaps the entire state finished voting at the same time, but it doesn't. Polls in Eastern and Central Kentucky close at 6pm EST, but not until 7pm EST in Western Kentucky.

since this happened before i doubt anyone in the panhandle would fall for it again. if so, shame on them.

The media will not say that Florida will be in the Kerry column because it will not even be close. Bush will win OH, FL and Penn. It will then be over and the landslide will continue on for Bush.

I talked this morning to someone whom I would have sworn was a die hard lib who was saying that he blamed Gore for all the litigation we are fearing (he's a lawyer too) and that Nixon and Ford could have contested the elections and acknowledged that Bush could have challenged in NM and that Gore never should have challenged in FL in 2000.

I think that statement is still correct, though. A 7 PM EST closing time is earlier than any state in the Eastern Time Zone. I believe Indiana's polls close at the same time.

The nets will call Kerry states early and hold off until the end for Bush states. Just like last year. They didn't even call Geogia until 11pm for Bush. They'll call California at 7:01 for Kerry.

On election day, I consider it rude to ask someone for whom they are voting. :-D
