I'd suppect that a fair number of want change too - control of the borders, for instance. If Bush wins we want some significant improvements in national security

If Bush shut down the border and cut off illegals he would be ahead 60+% right now, IMHO.

If the AOL member "exit poll" is a safe, bipartisan indication, things are looking pretty good so far.

That this nation could even consider anyone with the history of John Kerry is beyond me.

I agree, but then I didn't think Clinton could get re-elected either.

I understand. Prayerfully we won't have to ever go through that nightmare again.

Talked with my source, who had seen early exits before announced publicly, he said nothing at all looked good - but then ended our conversation with a comment - despite that, "I still think Bush is going to win this thing." Told me not to worry.

Turnout was the heaviest I've seen it in five Presidential elections, by far. I waited an hour and twenty-five minutes to vote here in central South Carolina, and apparently that wasn't unusual. My particular precinct is an odd mixture of heavily Republican upper-middle-class suburbs, largely black low-income apartments, trailer parks, and rural areas, so you can imagine the very wide cross-section of folks that were in line--all races, all ages. Everybody was polite and friendly, and nobody spoke a word about who or what they were supporting.

South Carolina will roll big for Bush, and I feel fairly confident about Jim Demint winning the Senate seat and finally putting Senator Foghorn Hollings (D-Disney) out to pasture!
