Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!

Congratulations President Bush!!

It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!

And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!

I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).

The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.

So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?

If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.

Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!

By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!

Just to be sure: If possible, I'd like 4 tickets for myself and family members.

Thanks,

Not too late at all. Estimated requests for tickets is about 400 so far out of about 1000. Pretty good response for just a few days.

I'd LOVE to go, but there's no way. My husband doesn't graduate from OSU until May...we can't afford ANYTHING!

I'd like to attend. Any attractive, single, early 30'ish females need a date? :)

I'll be checking out the hotel situation next week. Four years ago, many folks stayed at the Holiday Inn on Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia. It's right next to a Metro station.

Thank you to all who are signing up on this thread. Looks like we have 400 or more signed up already! Great!!

We hope to have a contract negotiated and signed next week or soon thereafter and we'll begin the actual ticket sales as soon as we can after that. Watch for our announcement in the sidebar and a FReeper Ball thread.

By the way, if anyone has any ideas about what our overall theme, design and graphics, etc, should be, please feel free to post your suggestions. Kristinn is in charge of the project and Mama_Bear, Ironman and others are helping.

See you all there!

You have mail. :-)

I am looking forward to this Ball! I can't wait to meet my FReeper brothers and sisters - especially the patriots in the DC Chapter who have done so much for the conservative cause over the years.

Thank you, kristinn, for all you are doing to put this Ball together for us.
