He said that if it could be proven that the AWB resulted in a reduction in crime that he would vote for the renewal in it's present (at that time) form. It didn't and he didn't because he knew it wouldn't.

Actually George Allen is a one term governor. Governors are limited to a single term by Virginia law. Well actually they can have more than one but they cannot be consecutive.

Here is how I see it - McCain will run as the Third Party option. Hitlary will get the Dem. nomination and George Allen will get the Republican nomination.

Here is what I don't see - Will McCain pull votes from Hitlary or Allen?

Actually Allen voted right, and the issues page is a little misleading.

There were two poison pills added to that bill. The first was the ugly gun ban. The second was the gun show ban. The democrats and jerks like Lugar, McCain, Chafee, etc all screwed us over and wrecked the bill. Allen voted against all the bad amendments. I watched Allens vote particulary since we didn't know what to expect from him since it was in his first term.

The final bill sucked, and Allen did the right thing by killing it.

Some Dems will vote for McCain - the darling of the media.

Probably the leftist central Dems and conservative Dems.

He's anti gun... He told me to my face at the Sterlingfest event before his election to the Senate that he supported the renewal of the AW ban. He also told me that he supported one gun a month. This isn't something I heard from someone who knows someone... this is strait from the horses mouth.

Sorry, that is an anti gunner in my eyes. If he wants my support, he damned well can earn it by sponsoring some hardcore pro-gun legislation and pushing to get it passed. Until then, I won't back him.

Mike
