That's my read.
I still can't figure out why there are so few big city conservative newspapers?
I know money is not a problem nor lack of writers....
Where are the wealthy, talented conservatives who can put this together and make it happen?
There is no senator who is more pro-abortion than Specter. He promised his local newspapers he'd stop the courts from becoming conservative with new conservative judges replacing retiring libs. And yet the GOP is poised to make him chair of the Judiciary Committee. I'm not going to apologize for being outraged about that. I'm in good company: Thomas Sowell is outraged. So is Judge Bork. The fact that Howlin isn't doesn't surprise me.
.."do THAT many women actually plan to have an abortion at some point in their lives?"
Been about 45 million so far, I think. Maybe more.
If Specter gets his way there will be millions more.
Sickening. The GOP wins on the right and runs to the left. Freaking idiots...
Although I disagree that Utah would be the only state to outlaw abortion. I would guess 75% of states would outlaw it.
I have no statistics to support this, but I believe the most die-hard pro-abortion folks have been intimately involved in an abortion at some point of their lives, either as the woman victim, or the man buying her off by paying for the abortion. Retreating from their "pro-choice" argument means recognizing their role in the murder of their own child, grandchild, etc.. That creates a powerful, self-perpetuating faith in the "woman's right to choose".
My own sister had an abortion when she was in her twenties, several years after a failed teenage marriage. I don't know what messed her up more, the failed marriage, or the guilt of the abortion. Then, she married the wrong guy, a much older guy. Then, she couldn't have children. Now, she's divorced with an adopted child, in the middle of a messy custody dispute, where the courts are making her pay HIM both palamony and child support, even though he's a retired teacher getting about an $80,000 per year pension.
Abortion ruins people, and it kills their kids.
SFS
If the New Media wins this one and stops Specter, I'll say there's hope yet!
Pro-abort Republicans are no Conservatives...and pro-choice is pro-abort. No two ways about it...
You can bet he won't get on there unless he promises the GOP leaders that every single one of Bush's nominees will make it to the floor.
"Pro-abort Republicans are no Conservatives...and pro-choice is pro-abort. No two ways about it..."
Exactly right. Let's clear any confusion on that.
:D
The GOP needs to stop King Arlen simply because it's the right thing to do, it's 'doable' and the down side, throwing away possibly two years, possibly a generation of voters - should be the antithesis of what the GOP is about.
The GOP wants generational power, but isn't as smart as they think they are to keep it...
...it's having the legal option to murder an inconvenient person that you invited - via one's own actions - into your life...
Rape, incest and mother's health are straw man propping up the butchering of unborn babies by "Medical Doctors" and other opportunists...
This is exactly our worst fear...and I fear it is 100% correct.
Hey Howlin, top of the day to you!
Are you aware of the promises that King Arlen has made to the Communist Leftists - that a vote for him, an article of praise for him, will get them in return?
They really are. Just watch. Specter will be made chairman, and all the Bush bots will tell us, as Specter borks conservative candidates, "Don't worry, Bush knows what he's doing, and that's good enough for me."
Time to support a third party for the 2006 midterms. Target moderate and soft conservatives in the GOP is "safe" districts.
Thank you...
