Loud-mouthed TV host Bill Maher has been slapped with a $9 million palimony suit by an ex-lover who says the comedian reneged on his promise to marry her, have his children and set her up for life in a Beverly Hills mansion.snip

I don't know what you mean by leading a sterile life, but I guess the implication is there that you prefer a heaping helping of profanity and lewd and crude subject matter in your choice of 'humor'. I remember the days when comedians actually were funny, not simply shameless and foul-mouthed.
Try watching a Peter Sellers movie; you won't find profanity being used. It is only a crutch used by talentless comedians to appeal to those in the audience who typically have a vacuous stare in response to genuine wit and humor.
