Good grief..what happened to my party?

James Carville actually answered your question this morning in his despair. Dems are about "process" and ran on a "litany" of issues. Pubs are about "progress" and ran a campaign stating what problems they plan to address in this term.

Dems like to 'call a conference to discuss issues.' Pubs like to change laws or make new ones to improve situations.

Welcome to FR. It is a terrific place for sharing ideas.

I hope Bush taps Lieberman for a cabinet head position.

Mark Sanford, gov. of SC. He's courageous, charismatic, big advocate for more money in your pocket and against gov. waste... Here's his website...

Governor of South Carolina - Mark Sanford

He was one of the '94 GOP Revolution freshman and held true to his values through his time up there. Joe Scarborough praises him highly in his book (Rome Wasn't Burnt in a Day) and includes a great story about his creativeness and integrity in governing....

Another rising political star is Mark Sanford, who left Congress in 2000 to run for governor of South Carolina. Sanford and I were together on most fights against our leadership when they backed down on spending cuts or reform measures. Unlike most politicians I know, Mark Sanford has only become more courageous with his political promotion over the years.

This year the Republican legislature in South Carolina went on a spending spree of record proportions. So Governor Sanford vetoed more than one hundred spending bills in one day. The Republican House and Senate overturned most of those vetoes the next day, prompting a response from their Republican governor. Sanford, who shares my lack of interest at impresssing the political establishment, decided to carry two pigs to the South Carolina House chambers and confront his big-spending Republican legislators.

Sanford named the pigs "Pork" and "Barrel," and paraded them around the GOP House for all the members to see. They were, of course, greatly offended-perhaps it was the droppings left on the House floor courtesy of Pork and Barrel-but Sanford couldn't have cared less. He was more interested in being faithful to South Carolina taxpayers than to a political party.

He'd make a great Pres. I've heard his name mentioned a couple of times lately here and there. Wonder how interested he is?

This phony Carville/Matalin routine is getting a bit old. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Matalin did a lousy job for Bush I and is now touted as an expert similar to Susan Estrich.

Mary M. is not like the drunken hag (Estrich) with the lampshade on her head!

I've just been lurking on the Dark Side. Apparently all the Dems there who were against Hillary realize that they have no one who has star power and are now re-thinking it. They will back Hillary BIG TIME. Don't think that Hillary CAN'T steal the woman's vote because she can and she will do very well with the minority vote. The minority vote (especially Hispanic) is very big - the largest voting block so far. We can't understimate them or her. Frist is too wimpy for Hillary. We need a tough person.

Lieberman has no center that can be counted on. He's all hat. And what good would he do Bush? He's better right where he is which is nowhere.

I saw your post a number of posts ago. The same one? Is it me? Or do you not remember the turn about that he made when he was chosen to be the democratic vice-president candidate?

Did Carville say something about "Homos in Hollywood" then make a joke about the only politician with a "Man Date" is Jim McGreevy? Shows how "tolerant" these Dems really are.

Mary is describing the size of James--

I was just adding the apostrophe after "James" to indicate the possessive form.

James' thing.
