clearly shows the French opening fire into the crowd. You see the French perimeter and the smoke from all the weapons being fired.
Also, the AP/CBS reports posted earlier indicate the French are not denying they opened fire into the crowd.

The camera pans from the French line firing to the front of the crowd. The crowd are all lying on the ground and getting cover from the wall. The cameraman is filming from behind the wall so it is easy for him to pan back and forth.
The bullets then would likely hit the people in the back of the crowd who didn't know what was going on at first.
The film above CLEARLY shows the French firing into the crowd. It clearly shows the helmet-less soldier and at 3:45 zooms in on him good enough for a positive ID.

I went to International news on Yahoo! and also did not see it. It was not even in the headlines. Of course, this is no surprise.

My the French are so brave. Blow away the heads of unarmed civilians and then they retreat. I bet they gave each other medals after the fact as well.

No, there was no one with a gun. I watched it twice looking exactly for that. And there you have the French sitting on that truck/tank, whatever you call it (surrender vehicle) pointing guns right at them, then they retreat at the end, as usual. Do a drive by then they run away.
I guess if those French troops would have put panties on the heads of all those people it would have gotten some coverage. Then again, I doubt it!

Look at the casual way the public around those personel carriers at the end of the second tape are walking around, seemingly without any fear.

I've been reading some military message boards to see what they had to say. I think the hotel might have been a place for the french civilians to go and they were protecting it.
And it shows the French standing behind nothing but a hedge for cover, sitting on top of their tanks right out in the open. If they were taking fire from the crowd, would they just be standing out in the open like that? The only time they seem to take cover is as they scurry away after doing the deed.
