Good question. I don't know what the requirements are these days for flight data recorders and/or cockpit voice recorders on charter aircraft. Hmmmm.... Good question. A lot will be known pretty quickly, like if the pilot had communicated any emergency or urgency to controllers, had there already been a missed approach, were other aircraft landing in the same conditions about the same time. Whatever the cause it truly saddens me to hear of the mishaps.

I had occasion to photograph him, along with Billy Graham, a few years ago at a Graham crusade. He was only a few feet away from, sitting on the stage, and when he noticed me photographing him he turned his entire body in my direction and looked directly at the camera and smiled. Certainly seems to be a class act!

Now... what about the significance of Dallas Love Field? Did Kennedy fly into that field on the day of the parade or something? Yes, and the casket with his body in it left there to go back to DC area as well.

I am surprised that in fog they allowed any flights into or out of Houston. I have been kept 5-6 hrs from flying out of Houston to Beaumont...and 9 hrs on the return from Beaumont to Houston from flying because of the fog.

Most correct post so far. I'm also a pilot. I don't fly IFR because of this. Who wants to fly at 100 mph plus when you can't see 10 feet in front of you? To many dead pilots because of this.
