All Quiet on the Iraq Front (No violence? Darn it!)
Google News ^ | 11/23/2004 | Whitman

Posted on 11/23/2004 4:39:34 AM PST by timbuck2

News producers are at a loss.

"We just brutally invaded Fallujah killing 1200-1600 innocent Iraqi insurgents! We broadcast a Marine killing an injured, unarmed, Iraqi nationalist who lay near death in a Mosque. We sent the tape to Al-Jazeera! What more can the press do to undermine this unjust invasion of a sovereign nation. Get me Kevin Sites! If anybody can find some violence in Iraq, it's Kevin! We have no significant violence for 48 hours in a row? Just one dead Sunni cleric? This is unacceptable! Get me Sites!"

The press is getting nervous. What if Bush actually pulls this thing off? The seditious press and Dems would look awfully stupid, wouldn't they? Carville might have to slap some yolk on hundreds of faces.

Maybe they will find Zarqarwi's decapitated body somewhere. Oh wait they could do a story on all those unarmed civilians killed by French troops on the Ivory coast. Oh no wait, that's French troops not American. Move on folks nothing to see here.

.....not to worry. The recent history of the spineless "average Iraqi" will for sure allow another hundred car bombings, ieds, and assassinations to occur within yards of populated areas.

The Islamists don't need Sikes, they can rely on the "I-see-nothing" average Iraqis to provide them with enough cover to keep the morning Headline News shows filled with stuff.

This is terrible news for the liberals, who still hold out hope for many thousands more dead American soldiers and nothing but continuing misery for the Iraqi people for generations.

Glimmers of Hope (continuing death in Iraq & a dying Rehnquist - liberals cling to this "good news")

Number of news regarding attacks in Iraq seem to decrease in days but still the terrorists are trying hard to gain the spotlight from their favorite anti-American media. By the way, while 1200-1600 terrorists were claimed killed, out of 1450 suspects captured, the DoD reported about 500 were released, which will mean 950 to be in hands for questioning.

Since the MSM and liberals are stupid, I see no reason for them to be ashamed of being wrong.

Not to worry, the media will find a million ways to denigrate our mission, our president, our military.

The media have tried. They have failed thus far. If Iraq goes the way those dastardly neocons believed it would, the press can kiss its sorry arse good bye. They had zero credibility after spending whatever had remained trying to get Kerry elected and now they are moving into negative territory. Is such a thing possible? I guess it means that whenever the press "report" something, rather than just ignore it people will now assume the opposite to be true.

I have said from the beginning that 20 years from now, people will be hailing President Bush for the stand he has taken on terrorism. Right now, he is the sacrificial lamb that they must try to slaughter but I have faith that he has made the right decision no matter how bad it has been at times. We will win this war and come out ahead!

It's not beyond some crazed left-wingers to see dead U.S. troops as a way to reduce the Republican vote.

At least we weren't stuck with Al Gore in 2000 whose first thought as potential commander-in-chief was an attempt to disenfranchise the Florida military vote.

Yeah, it can go negative. The former Soviet press was a standing joke in Russia back in the day. Now it has all the cred of the national enquirer.

There's no violence here because it's really cold today! And windy. We're shivering. Coldest day we've had here since last January.

The terrorists must not like the cold and they're holed up somewhere staying warm and not launching stuff at our bases.

Well, I heard a couple of booms about two hours ago, but that's all. They must have raced back inside where it was warmer.

Their aim sucked, too.

I have said from the beginning that 20 years from now, people will be hailing President Bush for the stand he has taken on terrorism.

Not from the people who think Stalin was just a tiny bit overzealous, and whose heart was really in the right place.

Not from the folks who think Cuba is superior to the United States because it has universal health care. Nor from the people who think the Rosenbergs were innocent, nor from the people who still defend Alger Hiss.

Nor from the people who believe Afghanistan is worse off now than under the Taliban.
