I guess the biggest Chicago actor out there right now is Gary Sinise from CSI: New YorkMaybe, but Jim Belushi could give him a run for his money.

It's often through caring for others that people rediscover the will to live. Yes -- I have a close family member who suffers with alcoholism and depression --- when she's in one of her states everything is about herself --- she dwells on every real or perceived grievance -- but no remorse for her own acts. When she's better and functioning she is thinking more about others. The poor little me always seems to precede a slip into alcoholism and despair.

Nope --- but I never thought life would also have to be perfect just for me all the time. Someone decides to dump you --- it happens to many of us --- so what --- get on with things. They foreclose on your home --- so what --- then you move into one you can afford.
I have a friend whose child is very ill with leukemia -- a bad kind and they could lose that child--- to me that's a real problem.

This article said she had "good friends". Friends are supposed to look out for each other. Too bad, I hope she gets better.

Palladin, she had a child (girl). I remember Diane wore her apron very loosley for awhile. You couldn't even tell she was preggie. Musta been nice...I had to back up to a door to knock when I was in a "family way". :)

One of the funniest shows ever produced. I must say it lost some of it's magic when Diane (Shelley Long) left. Rebecca was funny but loony, condscending, pompous Diane was better. IMHO.

All good points. They say that Alexander wept because he had no new worlds to conquer. Why do you get out of bed every day if you have realized every dream you've ever had? The only thing left to await is the inevitable fall.
This would make an interesting psychology thesis: The Pathology of Ultra-Success. Think of the case studies ...

The bit about the 19-year-old daughter got to me too. I don't know the particulars of the family situation, but I cannot imagine being so bereft of hope for the future when one has a 19-year-old child just starting out in life. Well of course you don't understand it. You are not a self-obsessed dimwit Hollywood prima-donna.

Why do you get out of bed every day if you have realized every dream you've ever had? One key is to move your OWN goalposts...before life does it for you.
The second key is to put energy into serving others' needs--be they children, spouse, or people in (any kind of need). The more personally involved you get (instead of just signing a check) the more it forces you into both gratitude and mental health. Cheers!

Sorry....but it's the ultimate selfish act if you have children especially. All you are thinking about is yourself and your own problems. The way out is prayers and helping out someone who is worse off....which is all around.

Sadly, the ones who try it in earnest,
are most often NOT the ones who threaten
to commit suicide, which is why they're
so often successful.

In other news, Chrity Ally is overdosing on food....
Somebody needs to explain to Ms. Ally that her IN-FREAKIN'-CREDIBLE
volumetric expansion is a huge advertisement to the males of America to stay single.
