The company I work for has been giving a minimum of 60 days severance to laid off employees since I first heard about the law being passed. Based on other posts to me in this thread, it sounds as though my understanding of the law was erroneous. Apparently, the company I work for is just being nice.

I've had to lay off people in my company. We give them a weeks pay for every year worked and all vacation, sick and personal time that hasn't been used. That's a nice gesture and I've got higher ups who are willing to point that out!

Here's hoping you and I can escape the lay offs...I don't care how much severance they're giving.
