Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday where she predicted that a Democrat would win the White House in November. She told host Tim Russert that she will "guarantee you that John Kerry will be president of the United States."

I don't know why people think discrimination is bad, truly intelligent people discriminate to weed out the bad or the failed. These words, discriminate/tolerance are frequently used but no reason is given as to why i should tolerate something i neither like nor agree with!?

Civil Unions also allow a "standing" to claim joint tax filing as a right, social security survivor benefits as a right, and immigration spousal visas as a right of the petitioner.

Democrats DO support all of the above and Kerry wrote on his website that he supported all of the above. Very different from GWBush.

Too nuanced for 2/3 of the legislatures to pass.

I'm wondering if she lets people marry their brothers and sisters.

Or their pets.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that a proposed constitutional amendment limiting marriage to heterosexual couples

Actually the proposed constitutional amendment makes no reference to anyone's sexual orientation. It simply defines a marriage as being between a man and a woman.

There must be two Pelosi women in congress. Just two weeks ago the other Pelosi chimed in about how much faith and Christianity she has. This particular Pelosi, as the saying goes for little piggies, has none.

So, Pelosi is for gay marriage?

Does the sun come up in the morning?

Does a bear $%!# in the woods?

Is water wet?

...Pelosi told "Fox News Sunday," "There were many Republicans who did not want to taint the Constitution with an act of discrimination.

Let's see:

No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States...

No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States...

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote...

Nope, we certainly don't want to taint the U.S. Constitution with discrimination.
