Totally agree: election day and the days leading up. Actually on election day, I did not listen to one word on the radio or TV. I worked that day as a poll observer and when done with that, came home, enjoyed dinner, and came to Free Republic. Still did not cut on the TV. But even from FR was so discouraged, went to bed thinking President Bush had lost or it was so close we would not know for days. Others told me the next day the truth. What a glorious next day. For sure.

For some reason I can no longer see the Reuters pictures but can see the ones I and others have posted......wonder why.

Magnificent Six to be exact - you are quite correct. Barney would be highly insulted to be omitted.

I don't think there is that much bias in these pictures at all. Whether they deserve picture of the year is another story.

John Kerry looks like a complete loser in the water-ski pic, it is unbelievable that some wanted the country united behind that face. What was the Democratic Party thinking?

The second picture of Kerry looks like he is hiding and somewhat unsure/ashamed of himself. Which of course is a logical path for him.

The Palestinian West Bank Story looks very strange. People throwing things looks very strange on photos. Like what's with all those baseball pitcher pictures anyways?

Rock Scissor Saddam!

Is Saruman supposed to incite people to understand the cause of the Islamic militants? Shave and a Haircut.

Speaking of shaving, the unkempt Michael Moore has a huge stupid smile. This is not a great picture in technical terms even, how did it get on the list? Mikey, you do know you only got the award because of Anti-Bush frogs right?

I suppose having an umbrella blow inside-out can happen to anyone, clever photo though. Is it just me, or does George Bush look somewhat like Harrison Ford in that picture? My eyers were fooled for a moment when I first glanced at it.

I guess the Reuters guy must have left the room just before George fingered out an electric guitar solo while break dancing on the Oval Office desk.

The worst time came for me on the way to my voting district straight from work. I was listening to Sean Hannity and he was saying something about the election being very very close, trying to get out the vote. There was something in his voice that lead me to believe we just might be in trouble. I got home after voting for W and Dick Cheney of course, turned on the TV only to find out that the poles showed us behind in almost every state.

Well let's say it was a rough night, FR and Jack Daniels were my friends that night, finally went to bed @ around 2 AM wondering if we were going to win Ohio. Got to work with a bad headache ( I like my JD straight up), but the day got much better after it was announced that Kerry would be conceding the race.

I never thought I'd be so into this election. Something tells me 2008 will be another one.

I met many people who stayed awake til 2 am. But I couldn't make it that long.....but I did not want to read a paper or listen to TV or radio that next day either. Until the truth was told. What a relief. But I can see why the Kerryites were suffering post election trauma. Hey, we had the same result - trauma - but of the good kind!

I'd say I'm in deep you know what if Barney ever catches up with me. Hopefully He'll be as gracious as his Master.

Except for my family (some), most of the people I know and friends at work are democrats, I live in NY, liberal country, LI to be exact. These people were not very happy at work the next day.

OH NO - I imagine the people you work with (and many of the people I work with) are major candidates for the counseling sessions that are in full swing across the nation for some of them. Truth be known, I even have family members who are quite liberal and have not yet gotten over the election results.

I have them too on my wife's side of the family, all of them that I know of. They're still recovering from their lost.

Thanks for the chat. If you ever find that pic of W giving that very sincere hug to the little girl, please freepmail me.

The pictures are in the original article posted. I don't know how to link them to pop up in my post as well.

Well when this thread first posted - I could see some of the pictures in the thread - they are referenced in the first post and more farther down. But now they are not there....which is fine.....must be an admin moderator decision which is of course fine with me.

Ah - if I read the thread on Microsoft Explorer - I can see the pictures. If I read it on Mozilla Firefox, the pictures are missing from Reuters.

My pleasure and I agree with your analysis. GWB is good looking but there is something about Dick Cheney that appeals more to me.
