I;m with RR —> I personally, prefer speed metal, hence I adore Metallica (the Black Album) — even some of their post-1995 songs, Megadeth, Anthrax and Pantera. I don’t like Slayer as I find most of their songs similar and their lame attempt to appear satanic is pretty stupid. I know everyone will kill me if I say I don’t like to listen to Led Zep or Pink Floyd.

You've probably heard of Buddy Holly and hummed La Bamba, never mind about various Elvis and Beatle songs. Or, what about Frank Sinatra (I did it my way) or Bing Crosby (white christmas)? Do you remember them?

I remember all of them, but I'm old. My grandkids never heard of any of them and likely never will.

well, I do know many kids in their teens who would know all of them — ok, Bing Crosby and Buddy Holly would be stretching it, but the others are well known. Even Bing is getting a rerun with TCM

The black album isn’t “metal” in any sense of the word. It was a decent rock album I’ll give it that much. Pantera in my estimation saved metal for a time before metallica’s mainstream success was passed to Korn, then slipknot, then god knows what fools are carrying the torch now. While I listen to many different genres of music from video game music and movie scores to bluegrass and ganster rap. The epitome of what I consider the very best metal album in existence would have to be Acid Bath’s “When the Kite String Pops”
