The perfect DIM candidate would be a pro life, pro gun rights, and not in your face pro gay candidate. They could do that and be the typical tax and spend liberal and win big. The shame for them is they could NEVER survive a DIM primary campaign.

"I would like people to remember me as someone who raised standards, wherever I got involved." he was quoted as saying.

Raised standards? What a crock.

"The shame for them is they could NEVER survive a DIM primary campaign."

That kind of candidate may be able to survive a primary in the south - and that kinda scares me. Lucky for us they haven't figured that out yet.

Just shows how extreme they are on social issues, and how they are in big trouble.

"We move any further to the left, and Hillary's going to be running to our right."

Actually, that is exactly what's she's doing. She's already on the right on terrorism. Now she's getting to Bush's right on immigration (not very hard to do). And notice how she keeps a very, very, low profile on most explosive issues. She's laying low and building up a record, prior to striking.

We really do have to be careful about getting outflanked on the right. After all, that's how Bush-41 got defeated.

Agreed. We need to move to the right, and take a stand on principle. We lose our principles and compromise our values by moving left, and Hillary can run to our ideological right, and we will also be a point of moral equivalency.

Your work highlights what irks me. First they join the republican party, then do everything they can to undermine the platform and turn it into a party that supports dem ideals. If they want to move left, change parties!

Yea, it's insidious, but it did happen to Bush-41.

Consider:

Bush-41 raised taxes.
Bush-41 gave us the Americans with Disabilities Act
Bush-41 renewed, with punishing requirements, the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act
Bush-41 gave us the quota bill

Clinton promised a Middle Class Tax Cut.
Clinton promised to end welfare as we know it.

And, if you can believe it, Bush-41 was portrayed as a tool of the extreme Right Wing.

Regardless of the results of Clinton, that's where things stood on election night, 1992. We had been out-flanked by Clinton and the Dems on both the left and the right.

Not an easy thing to do, but Bush-41 let it happen.

It took a little while for him to show his true colors but it was inevitable.

AMEN! If they're so hip on supporting Leftist planks, let 'em go to the damned Democrat party!

Thank an Ahhnold-supporting RINO for this mess. Heck, send 'em a special Christmas card. Here's a suggested one...

I have no objection to changing that requirement of native birth.
It's not as if Ahnold is going to be elected anyways.

One question: no other nation on Earth allows foreign-borns to run for their highest office...so why the hell should the United States -- the world's only remaining superpower -- do such a damned stupid thing?

While, that's true, I think you'll find that most people on this site think that 250,000,000 or so native-born Americans is enough to choose from. We're real leery about second-guessing our founding fathers.

The United States has allowed non-American's to be president before. It's still a super power.

"F" him!

Looks like the Kali. citizens voted for Arnie and got Maria Kennedy.

I am SO VERY GLAD Arnie cannot run for prez, it is scary to see how many people vote their emotions over common sense.
