I actually prefer foreign-made assault weapons (rifles). I also prefer imported beer. I suppose I'm not a "true" conservative.

You forgot that he failed as a mathematician, 7 - 9% = "weapon of choice" (ie. majority). That must be that "new" math they are teaching in school, in the old days 7 - 9 out of 100 was not a majority.

I got my 'noban' Bushmaster M-4 clone at our November show. Woohoo. Haven't shot up any neighborhoods yet.

I've lately been eyeing the M1A. Does anybody have any mileage on it?

I've seen a couple of the Springfield models at 3 gun matchs. The guys that own them seem very happy with them.

is not legal for sale in the People's Republik of Californistan.

WHat?? Why the hell not? What exactly is the difference between it and any other auto?

The .50 AE Desert Eagle has run afoul of the infamous California law, SB 15, the drop test BS. Apparently, every model gun sold in California must pass the asinine drop test; Magnum Research simply has not sent the Desert Eagle in .50 AE to the Cal DOJ testing lab. They have sent the Desert Eagle in .44 mag however, so one can simply purchase one in that caliber and convert to the .50 AE at an expense of about $350 or so.

However, because of the assault-weapons ban, only criminals and terrorists have been kept from their guns of choice.

Sorry, Alcee, but all it did was drive up the price a little, or force them to get something that didn't have a bayonet lug on it. Which cut down on the rash of drive-by bayonetings, I'm sure.

Criminals don't need a high-tech weapon to do their dirty deeds, just an unarmed general public. Terrorists don't use civilian semi-autos that look like assault rifles, they get the real thing on the international black market.
