A CHRISTMAS LETTER TO ANTI-CHRISTIANS
To The Point ^ | December 22, 2004 | Dr. Jack Wheeler

Posted on 12/24/2004 8:26:53 AM PST by 26lemoncharlie

Merry Christmas. If that offends you, why should I care? It’s your problem, not mine. Let me explain your problem a little more fully. America is a Christian country. It’s your job to deal with that, because you’re not going to change this fact. America has always been a Christian country, and – open wide now, because you’re going to have to swallow this – it will continue to be.

It will continue to be because most Americans aren’t Euroweenies. They haven’t lost the moral courage to be proud of their country and their civilization. Notice the “most” – which you are not a part of. You are anti-Christian because you are anti-American. You are anti-American because you are anti-Western Civilization. You are anti-Western Civilization because you are afraid of and intimidated by the envy of the world’s impotent. Fear of being envied defines your soul.

Try this thought experiment. Try and pretend that you are deep down in your bones proud to be an American. Try and cast aside all the embarrassment you feel, the need to apologize for being American. You feel fear, don’t you? What makes you afraid to be proud of your country? Envious evil eyes, that’s what.

It’s that fear that drives you to ask, why do They hate us? The dreaded They out there in the world who hate America, the dreaded They whose envy makes you incapable of defending your country and your culture against them.

Another thought experiment: Place in your mind’s eye the entire panorama of Western Civilization – of ancient Greece and Rome, of medieval knighthood and Christendom, of the Renaissance, the age of exploration and scientific discovery, the Industrial Revolution, the creation of mass prosperity. Now try and pretend that it is thrilling to be a part of and heir to this history, that you look upon Western Civilization as glorious and superior to any other, that you admire it without apology.

Are you cringing? You feel guilt, don’t you? You have a compulsion to focus exclusively on the negative, right? When you thought of Greece and Rome, you thought, “They had slaves.” You immediately translate Medieval Christendom into Dark Ages and sneer at the Crusaders. The Renaissance makes you think of the Inquisition. The Age of Exploration reminds you of what an “exploiter” Columbus was, and how much you sympathize with Aztec cannibals over the Christian Cortez. And American history – why that’s just slavery, slaughter of Indians, and capitalist rip-offs.

So now you take out your fear and guilt on the spiritual source of our civilization. Well, thank you for sharing. For 2,000 years, Christianity has been woven into the warp and woof of Western Civilization. You can’t pull it out and not expect the whole tapestry to unravel – as the Euroweenies are finding out. Christianity is an inseparable part of the culture of our civilization. Even atheists must be cultural Christians and feel comfortable with their culture’s Christian heritage if they wish not to be estranged from their civilization and its history.

This is why your war on Christmas, your war on the Boy Scouts, your war on any mention of Christianity in schools, your war on public displays of Christianity such as the tiny crosses in the Los Angeles City Seal has nothing to do with religion: these are cultural wars, not religious wars.

You know very well that your worry about Christians establishing an oppressive theocracy in America is a complete sham. After all, it was American Christians taking seriously Jesus’ proclamation to “Render unto Caesar’s what is Caesar’s and unto God’s what is God’s” that enables America to have a secular government and no state religion.

But here is what you should worry about: more and more of us are figuring out that there is no moral obligation to obey your immoral laws. There is going to be an ever-increasing amount of straight defiance of judges’ anti-Christian pro-ACLU rulings. Civil disobedience has a long and venerable history in this country. Christian civil disobedience is going to become a major social movement in America, with refusal to obey pro-ACLU edicts more and more widespread.

You want respect for the law? Then don’t pervert it to advance your anti-Christian agenda. Don’t pervert it to assuage your fear of envy and guilt over being an American. Respect has to be earned. You and your judges need to earn it back.

You can start by putting Christmas back in Christmas, much less Christ. Repeat after me: It’s Christmas Vacation, not “winter break.” It’s Merry Christmas, not “happy holidays.” We’re not going to put up with professional grinches any more. We are not going to tolerate your being offended at public crosses and nativity scenes and discussions of Christian history in schools, and we are not going to tolerate judges being offended by them either. If you don’t like it, move to Euroweenie Land or the Land of Moral Mush, Canada. Why are you here anyway if you are so embarrassed to be here?

If you insist on staying, fine. All we ask is that you shut up and stop complaining. If you really want to keep living in a country you hate among people you despise, at least let the rest of us enjoy our lives as Americans, and let us celebrate Christmas happily and in peace.

Let me celebrate it by giving you a Christmas present – by telling you what’s the best Christmas present you could give yourself. Stop caring about the envy of the world for America. Junk your fears and feel free to love being American. When you love being American without embarrassment or apology, you’re free to love your fellow Americans in a way you couldn’t before. You’ll find yourself overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude and thankfulness for being American. Trust me, you’ll be a lot happier. So happy, in fact, that it will become irresistible for you to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

And so – Merry Christmas to you, Merry Christmas to one and all, and Merry Christmas to America.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

The basic evil scam of the democrats is that they see essentially all aspects of human life as functions of the state.

This is beyond any conceivable idea of what the founders of the USA had in mind when they set forth "separation of church and state." This is in fact the exact tyranny for which Americans fought for their freedom.

But, under this socialist Everything Is The State banner, the democrats are VERY aggressively banning all public use of words like "Christmas," "Christ," "God," etc, etc.

Very nice photo.
BTW, NO OFFENSE but I would have cropped out the two heads in the water on the left - they distract the eyes and become the focal point. But it IS a nice photo :-)

I have to say I'm conflicted about this message.

On the one hand, everything it says is true. On the other hand, the tone is terrible.

There's something grinchlike and triumphalist in the tone that's completely out of keeping with the Christmas spirit. Yes, I know, the original grinches are the ACLU, but the tone of this is more in the spirit of the ACLU than of Christmas. I guess it's catching.

I can't imagine sending this to my liberal, America-despising friends. It would just get their backs up and make them close their eyes even tighter to the truth.

LOL.

Yup. The spirit of Christmas distilled into a short phrase.

Merry Christmas and F you.

You have to realize that sometimes you have to talk to the National Socialists in a Language and Tone that they understand, sort of the Fight Fire with Fire kind of approach. Yes, send it to your Laft wing Friends and let them know in no uncertain terms that the MAJORITY WILL RULE THE YULE!

Exactly. I understand manger scenes in public place are under attack, but in response there's a lot of hypersensitivity and aggression out there toward anyone who innocently says something innocuous and well intended like "Happy Holidays". We aren't any more right than they are if we do that.

Well put. It's time to just come out and say what needs to be said. And if the directness of this "offends" anyone, too bad.

Why is it that someone always has to rain on someone elses parade? BellStar took a beautiful photo that she is rightfully proud of! I can see that you aren't a professional photographer as you know nothing about " Leading Lines!" Cropping from the left would ruin the leading lines in this photograph. Guessing film? Do you realize there are other film companies than boring Kodak? You know the f-stop and lens also? You are just too much, what a hoot! At best this photo could have used a little bit of Photoshop and Painter 9 if it were being sold for a hefty price and perfection was a must! It remains as it is a beauty and BellStar, keep shooting them as you see them!

I, Condor 51, am a proffesional photographer with 26 years in business. Would you want to pick apart one of mine and tell me how you would have done it better? I'm not familiar with this site so I'm not sure how to attach but if I can figure it out I'll put up one that the buyer was amply happy to pay $22,000.00 for which took 15 minutes start to finish and a several hour flight in both directions! Sorry to say I can't find how to put up an attachment!

Why not think before criticizing others?

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Fear not ; for, Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be unto all people. For unto you is born this day,in th ecity of David, a Savior, which is christ the Lord." (Luke2; 10,11) bit more than Merry Christmas but
to all who have rejected God -they can only choose to
repent -and seek God-- or die in their sin.Whatever we
choose we cannot change the Reason we have for Peace,on eath ,and good will toward men.
