SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Outgoing Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle said the political role he played during the past quarter century was more defensive than offensive, and that kept him from pursuing the proactive agenda he envisioned when he first entered politics.

Too long to go into here, but I have a liberal friend who had direct dealings with Daschle. Daschle is a despicable hardcore a-hole.

His role may have been defensive, but the manner in which he conducted himself was offensive.

When I first heard his whiny voice, I put on my best Zell Miller hat and said "Get out of my face!" With that, I made a run for the remote and returned to FOX. How disgustingly shameless and ineffective he is (and was), but, of course, Russert will spare no amount of effort to make him a regular on MTP. Uggghhhhh!

"Loyal opposition"? Loyal to what? Not, so far as may be determined, the United States.

Tom Daschle stayed in the Senate because he could take pork home to South Dakota, and he maintained an intensive database of South Dakota voters, communicating with them often. This database was the source of Daschle's continuing popularity in a state that one would normally expect to be Republican in outlook.

Sean Hannity has all the depth of an Earl Sheib paint job. He is an empty suit leading empty heads, an irritating, smirking little tit of a man, whose career is built on belittling those few dolts he can find who are more ignorant than himself. He is living proof that mindlessly parroting a few talking points ad nauseum passes for political discourse in today's media. He couldn't ad-lib a fart after a baked-bean dinner.

Other than that, of course, he's fine.

Isn't that the job of this "Two-Party Cartel"? As for Frist - just go back to your previous occupation & leave the work of running the commies out of government to the people that are up to that job. And thank you, GW, for making him your inept man in the Senate, thanks to keeeping the idiot Minnet in your cabinet, thanks to giving Teddy Kennedy 11EXTRA Billion of our dollars to squander in the defunct public schools & finally thanks to allowing more illegals into our country.

Daschle says political role was more defensive than offensive

This is quite possibly true. Being that Daschle, as a man, is only 3 feet tall, he fought a constant defensive battle to avoid being stepped on by the likes of "patent leather steel-toe shoed" Republicans.

We finally squashed him November 3rd.

Sean Hannity

I have to admit I'm less of a fan of Hannity than at one time - the guy just never SHUTS UP! Don't have on guests if you won't let them talk, Hannity. But he's okay. I don't mind listening to Hannity.

He's no debater though. He's not known for having command of the facts. Coulter, now, she can debate. I wonder what you think of HER?

Dirk likes Tom, perhaps. But Tom is a liar. If the GOP were going to take food out of the hands of innocent babes, it was probably Tom who told you that. If the Republicans were going to destroy Social Security overnight, it was probably Lyin Tommy who told you. The GOP planning on giving all the money to Hollywood fatcat libs, Tom told ya - except he'd phrase it as, the 'rich', and not mention his wealthy lib benefactors. GOP would stormtroop right into your closet - probably Tom was the source (not that stormtroopin into closets was something he necessarily found objectionable, if one remembers Clinton, Reno, and one Easter). I find it amazing he was so often elected. As people have said, it CLEARLY has to have been the case that he ran as one candidate in the state, very different from the man, if I can call him that, that he was in the Senate.

Tom Daschle was CATEGORICALLY A DISGRACE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Daschle originally wanted to be offensive but informs us to have been defensive.
This is what takes place in a man that gave up his ideal and followed one of at first easier appearing route of taking orders.
Too late to get away from it once you're in this rot you're caught.
His basic flaw:
Only superficial determination to begin with nor enough conviction of standing up and fighting for what you belief in. Tom: Retrospect is a confession that it's too late.

Daschle, who plans to continue living in Washington, said he hasn't decided what he wants to do but would like to stay involved in public policy. He has ruled out lobbying and running for office, instead considering writing, lecturing, teaching and opportunities in the private sector.

Daschle was a DC resident and represented the values of Washington, D.C., not the SD ones.

Coulter is a wonderful attack dog, good command of facts, never flustered, stays on track, relentless in pursuit of her opponent, seldom concedes a point or repeats herself unnecessarily. I don't know how well she would wear 3 hours a day, though. Of course, Rush is a master entertainer, and Laura Ingraham seems to strike a nice balance between being tough and listenable.
