Pictures of a vietnamese Re-Education Camp (Vietnam Human Rights Bill)

Keep in prayer for the Vietnam Human Rights Bill. It is presently in the Senate after passing by a wide margin in the House.

If you have any doubt about whether the Bill should pass, take a look at the picture below of an actual re-education camp in Vietnam provided by the Montagnard Foundation. Re-education camps are where believers are typically sent.

Stay tuned as we will post a picture per day over the next 4 days.

I found several news stories on google from non christian sources reporting persecution of Christians and even massive deaths and torture in current Vietnam within the last 5 years. It's not hard to find non christian sources of those stories. What's up with you? You some kind of weirdo or something?

I am living in Thailand, travel to Vietnam, and speak from first hand experience. Christians practice openly in Vietnam. Maybe people want to deny it because it would dry up funding for their NGO/charity of choice?

I am curious why the site you are so fond of doesn't mention persecution for other reasons.

Because it was set up specifically to chronicle Christian persecution all over the world, of which there is a great deal. This group focuses their efforts in one direction, thereby maximizing the use of their resources. There is nothing wrong with that.

You might read here.

http://www.ishr.org/activities/religiousfreedom/christiansinvietnam.htm

"However, the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) observes with great concern that Vietnam has discriminated, harassed and persecuted religious communities for years. ISHR records that in 2001 alone several hundred believers - among them all important religious leaders - were arrested or put under house arrest."

The ISHR is a non-profit NGO that bases its work on the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

I have no doubt about that. Vietnam is far from paradise. My main complaint with this thread, and most of the people posting on it, is they completely trivialize Vietnam's real problems by inventing bogus atrocities. Stick to the facts and there are plenty of reasons to criticise Vietnam. Making up 'fake but accurate' lies wishing they were true simply cheapens the message and makes one into a fool.

Persecution by govt. is persecution, no matter the reason. Maybe you want to deny it because it would dry up business opportunity for you if anything was ever done about it.

NEVER FORGET

I personally have had my fingers run down long deep scars that had long ago been put upon Vietnamese Americans now living in California's Little Saigon.

Both men & women, who suffered for many years at the hands of knife wielding Peoples Army Guards in Communist Vietnam's"Re-Education" Concentration Camps afer the Fall of Saigon ..after we had CUT & RUN.

Scars that run from the middle of their stomachs all the way down to their navels.

As I did so they all asked me, with tears runing down their faces...

.."Why did they do this to me?"

.."Because they COULD" was my answer.

These victims of Communist tyranny were eagerly registering to vote here in the 2004 Presidential Election ...to enthusiastically vote against a man they knew had killed Freedom for their homeland South Vietnam long ago,

...one JOHN KERRY.

And they were correct in doing so.

The purpose of my devoting 2 years to continously posting on this important Freerepublic.com thread was to graphically share with my fellow Americans what the once Free South Vietnamese People were forced to suffer through after we had abandoned them, ...thanks to those who confused us here at home through our Media about our Freedom Mission of the Vietnam War.

My hoped for end result was the preventing those same people responsible for confusing us into leaving the Free People of South Vietnam behind, from doing so again to the now Free People of Iraq & Afghanistan.

By stopping them,

...at the Polls,

...from regaining control of our U.S. Congress & White House.

A White House that Al Qaeda today proclaimed would be bombed.

Our enemies abroad and Within have now been emboldened and we did it to ourselves by losing focus on what brought us all here in the first place ..the Attacks of September 11th, 2001 by Al Qaeda:

http://www.RickRescorla.com

The Vietnamese American Movie Release of 'The JOURNEY from the FALL' a year ago would have taken us a long way towards getting a different result then we got last Election Day Tuesday.

With a coming March 2007 Movie Release instead ..'JOURNEY' will still serve to remind us all of what happens to others when we abandon them:

Happy Veteran's Day, my friend.

I got lucky, never was shot at.
When we ETS'd no one noticed because we weren't missed to begin with.

Anyway, we noticed.

"New Congress to target NSA [Eavesdropping] Program"

We knew what they were going to do because they told us what they were going to do.
That they're now doing it should not come as any surprise, least of all to those frequenting this place.
They're gonna screwup Sarge, and screwup *big*.
I can *feel* it. ;^)

Now *we* recall when Clintigula blew 50 years of Liberal-Socialist control of both houses, what he & his *minority* were able to do or more importantly not do? How as a minority they successfully bottled up and or derailed everything the *new* majority attempted to do?

Well, Sarge?
Shoe's on the other foot now.
The tricks and shenanigans used by the Clintonistas are still there, & "What's good for the goose, is good for the gander."

As for the Liberal-Socialist quisling mediots intervening again, hurting us any more?
How?
Bring it on, baby. :o)

Let us sit back now & watch what our guys are *really* made of, if they've any political savvy -- whatsoever -- after their 12 year rule.
Shall we? ;^)

Wishful thinking. No one is sent to a re-education camp simply for being Christian.

That sounds like an article of faith on your part...negatives are notoriously difficult to prove.

Oh. That's a MUCH narrower statement than the one you made in post 20. In this narrower category, you may very well be correct.

He's right on that point, Y. State churches are routinely tolerated in some communist states, as they provide a means for the party to keep an eye on people of faith...witness the Russian Orthodox Church under Soviet rule.
