Half the people in the firm I work for went to Tech, the other half went to UVA.
Things get interesting during football/basketball season.
I didn't attend either one (UoHK), but somehow I still manage to diplomatically exist between the two factions.
I have a Project Manager who absolutely refuses to let me use blue and orange highliters on the same document.

As usual, it appears that the lefties lied to the park police about the "thousands" of protestors.

We have had a wonderful day so far and no real confrontations at the inauguration, on the metro and on the streets.

Well, I'm back.

My son got to meet and pose with Governor L Douglas Wilder during the ceremony marking the anniversary of the Religious Freedom Act, penned by Thomas Jefferson.
I got to shake his hand. That's the closest I've been to an elected official.

I met "old" President Bush at a campaign event at my college, when he was running for re-election as Vice President. I uttered the immortal words, "Wow! It's nice to meet you, Mr. Vice President! I hope you win!" I'm sure he remembers me :-).

Brushes with greatness are a rush.
LD had a talk show on a local AM station after he left office, and I called one night to rebut a statement one of his guests had made.
After a little reminder, he actually did remember me.
Well, he remembered the event, at any rate.

I had to stop on the side of the road when he was VP while he flew over me in a helicopter! I waved, and so I KNOW he remembers me! :-)

I've also met whichever Virginia governor was married to Lynda Bird Johnson, and Texas governor Bill Clements, and Alan Keyes, and Admiral Hyman Rickover. Almost too much excitement for one life :-).

I "met" John F Kennedy @ a nuclear reactor dedication a couple months before he was killed. We had a real in depth conversation - "hi, how are you" in a very Mass accent. He was better looking and healthier appearing in person than tv and pictures. Vibrant.

And CIA Director William Webster, to whom I said, "I'm proud to shake the hand of the man who sits in Bill Casey's chair." He probably remembered me for a few hours :-).

I couldn't agree more. Our Laura is truly beautiful! She reminds me of Jackie Kennedy - so dignified, so poised.
