Yay! I'm famous! (BigB's ULTIMATE vanity!)
self

Posted on 01/21/2005 6:08:44 AM PST by TheBigB

Yesterday was a bitter day indeed for our friends at DirtyUnderpants.com. President Bush was inaugurated for his second term (not that French guy whose name escapes me at the moment)...NOT ONE DAMN DIME DAY turned quickly to WASTE OF DAMN TIME DAY...Che and Karl are STILL dead...

So they decided to focus their anger and frustration onto one individual. WHO, you may ask! WHO is this powerful right-wing figure who drove them to fury? Karl Rove? George W. Bush? Shannen Doherty? Nope.

Me. :)

Yep, that's right. Little ol' inoffensive, innocent-as-a-newborn-lamb fuzzball me.

Turns out that they take great umbrage to my FReeper homepage. They started their own thread about it here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x2469227

Needless to say, when informed of this by OSHA, I was vexed. "Why?" I cried! "What BRINGETH their fire down on me?" "What CAUSETH their righteous indignation?" "How DOESETH this lint keep accumulating in my belly button?"

Turns out that they don't like the pics on my page. Well, specifically, they don't like my pics of scantily-clad famous babes like Jessica Simpson, Rose McGowan, Jaime Pressly, etc. You'd THINK they have more important things to worry about, but no.

So I am now looked down upon by DUh. Which is roughly akin to being called "untalented" by Ashlee Simpson. I added a special welcome message just for them. ;-) You can visit my page and see what upset them, if you haven't done so. But of course, if you think you might not like it, then just don't go. It's that simple. If you do, keep these rules in mind:

Heh. :) I'm sure they'll find this thread eventually, so I'd like to leave them with the ULTIMATE offensive pic (to them, anyway). So...

Enjoy! :)

Yes, Retro! I'm a HUGE Roe, Jim and Kristina fan! I think Roe though, gets the "she's haaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhht" thing from Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in their reality show (don't know the name of it.) Anyway, in that show I guess they say that EVERYTHING's either haaaaaaaahhhhhhht, or NOT haaaaaaaaahhhhhht. It could be that they had a good hotdog and fries for lunch that day, and they'd say:

"That hotdog and fries were SOOOO haaaaaaahhhhhhhht. SO was my Diet Coke. It was haaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhht. Really hit the spot. But that guy behind the counter that gave us a hard time for me wanting caviar on my dog? THAT was NOT haaaaaaaaahhhhhhhht. He is NOT haaaaaaaaaaahhhhhht."

And they say "haaaaaaahhhhhhht" with such BORED inflection...(signifying that they're so cool) which makes it all the funnier. Or sometimes it's said with hyperventilating enthusiasm...as is the case with my guy freinds that I've told this to. They can't wait to "test it out" at a party, once I've told them about the "haaaaaaahhhhhht thing," by craning their heads around for a pretty girl, pointing her out, and being the FIRST of the guys in the group to start with the "she's haaaaaaaaahhhhhhhht." I swear it's an "I win" thing. LOL.

I am a Petra Fan. Very good rock!

Dude! Petra was awesome! The influence of Journey and Boston on their music was very obvious both in their sound and in their album covers. Petra paved the road in Christian "Rock" music for the bands that popular today. I had their albums "Never Say Die" and "More Power to You" and "Not of this World" and I saw them in concert a couple of times.

I went looking to see if she actually married Larry King or if they just dated and I found some interesting info on her. She's definately not a stereotypical model/actress:

Her Hollywood career came about via her incredible success on the beauty pageant circuit. Winning her first title at age 16, SHEAR won over 40 major pageants, including "Miss Louisiana." RHONDA then went on to major with a B.A. in Communications from Loyola University. She was accepted to Loyola Law School after a brief but impressive attempt at a political career in New Orleans. After losing the office of Register of Conveyances by 135 votes in New Orleans, RHONDA packed her bags and headed to Hollywood. Bob Hope quickly spotted her and put her on in one of his specials. Like so many young actresses before her, Hope's nod of approval jump-started what was to become a solid acting, modeling career for SHEAR.

The Greg X Volz days were Petra's best. "Angel of Light" was another good one from those days along with "Let Everything That Has Breath". Of their ballads, I always liked "Looking thru Rose-colored Stained Glass Windows".

They are something else, alright. Seems they have a thang for FR, haha!

They remind me of cockroaches. They come outta the woodwork to invade us here.

Oh he's been doing it long before Paris and Nichole. They probably stole it from him! LOL!! My husband and I do it all the time, too. When we are getting ready to go out someplace I will ask my husband if I look just okay or haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhht.

Toni's "Mickey" video of "Mickey" landed in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as an example of a "one-hit wonder," and in 2001 VH1 named it the #1 one-hit wonder of all time ...

Other one-hit wonders:
"Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck
"Afternoon Delight" by Starland Vocal Band (possibly the worst song ever written)
"Dream Weaver" (don't remember who did it)

But those were all probably late 70s rather than 80s

After this Sunday, the only place the Steelers will be going is home
In November, a Patriot beat a bunch of vote Stealers.

I expect similar to happen this weekend.

"I saw Debbie Gibson in concert at Atlanta's Southern Star Amphitheater. Voluntarily. There, I said it. It's out. Can't we all just move on? :^)"

I admit I saw Corey Hart back in the early 80s. And he wore his sunglasses at night.

Thanks for the info. I was never much for worshipping actresses or models, but Rhonda is one of the exceptions!

Like you said, nothing stereotypical about her, except maybe the wetlook lip gloss used long before the rest of the world caught on. :-)

Or maybe that was just the TV and my watery eyes at 3AM??? LOL!!!

Expectations about Peyton Manning may have led the Colts Pro shop to offer an `AFC Conference Champions' T-shirt for a brief time.

I *really* don't hear anything current I like. Most of the men are just whiny and the women - well, Pat Benetar and Ann and Nancy Wilson made a good run at being rockers but they just don't seem to get it somehow.

Heart is my #1 or #2 band (ducking for cover). "Barracuda" just rocks. Have you heard their new CD "Jupiter's Darling?" It's pretty good. They've gone back to their 70s roots, thank goodness.

I've heard "Love". It is a good song, but did not touch me as the others did. I've heard "Petra Praise" but not volume 2.

Shalom.

When they busted out "Hungry Like The Wolf", the place exploded. :^)

BAH! Memphis Liberty Bowl, summer of 1976. Nobody was paying attention to what was going on on stage after Blue Oyster Cult finished their set. It was hot and the 60K was getting rowdy when all of a sudden the opening strains of this came out over the speakers.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
Though this feeling I can't change.
But please don't take it badly,
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change.
The Earth moved.

LOL, Wayback-machine Kitten! We do the VERY same. My husband knows to ALWAYS say I look haaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhht. (He really thinks so though, so that's cute.)

Here in Chicago, our guy friends say it more like the "a" in "hat," but I as a woman, say it more *bored*, and with an "o" as in "hot."

I won't deny that I like being told that I'm haaaaaaaaauuuuuuut. How can you help but smile at that? :-)
