We are proud of the Iraqi's as well.
However, we are more proud of you and the other soldiers who are doing a very difficult job.
To: ac-rep
God bless you and keep you and all your fellow soldiers, from a very grateful American.

Thank you, Sir, for your part in helping bring this day to the Iraqis, and for helping to keep all of us free and safe.

Welcome Iraq, to the world of free nations. Now just remember that those terrorists who are living among you are the REAL enemy. We are there to bring you freedom, they are there to bring back "the good old days" of rape, torture, and murder.

This is a great day for the US military. To all those who server and the families of those who have given the last measure: you have made history today. Future generations will remember you as the TRUE defenders of freedom.

voting and taking the purple stain on their fingers, knowing that it marks them for death by the terroristsTerrorists or insurgents aren't going to go out and vote, they'll be the ones walking around without ink stains on their index fingers.

In an advanced republic, low voter turnout is an excellent thing.

Iam a US soldier stationed in Bayji, Iraq and Iam proud of the Iraqi people. The insurrgents target them twice as much as they go after us.
I watched until around 1:30 CST this morning in central USA. It was fun to watch their jubilance. It makes us proud of you and them and freedom.
It was also fun listening to CNN trying to find some negatives to report. One CNN desk reporter was interviewing a female reporter in the field. He was asking about bombing and threats and how intimidated the people were. The female reporter couldn't respond because, behind her, voters were cheering, clapping, yelling. lol. Desk reporter turned desk over to another female who did have a field guy with a few negatives----but in the background of him was a growing line of voters.
Great threads started last evening:
