*Michael, HAVE A HEART !!!!!For Valentines Day give Terri back to her MOM & DAD, The Schindlers!!!!!!!!*
The Terri Schindler Schiavo Daily Threads are created month to month as we watch local and national news regarding Terri and her family.
Since Terri's supporters are in every time zone, you may see something FIRST. Please share news with us that you don't see here already. Now, why would you want to do that? Terri's Daily Thread for September/October of 2004 was viewed over 15,000 times. Terri's November Daily Thread was viewed over 6,000 times. December's thread is over 3,000 views. January 2005 Daily Thread was a RECORD HIGH!!!!!!! 15, 103 VIEWS!!!!!!
More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.
Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.
Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.
Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.
See Terri's flash movies if you need more information. You can see for yourself that's she's interactive and follows the doctor's instructions.
NOTE: Terri's December Dailies are noted as a source above. There are lots of important links at the very top of that thread. If you missed Terri's Celebration of Life, you can click on it from there.
AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!
The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.

How much more evidence do we need?
Disability Activists Call for Moratorium on Starvation and Dehydration
Disability activists have called for a nationwide moratorium on the dehydration and starvation of people alleged to be in persistent vegetative state. This would apply to individuals who do not have an advance directive or durable power of attorney.
The call for a moratorium is a reaction to the newly-published report indicating high levels of brain activity in people thought to be in minimally conscious state (MCS). The study, published in the February issue of Neurology, discovered evidence that these individuals may hear and understand much of what is going on around them, but are unable to respond.
The study drew a distinction between MCS and Persistent Vegetative State (PVS), but the distinction is not a reliable one. In a New York Times article, Dr. Joseph Fins mentioned research indicating a 30% misdiagnosis rate of PVS, indicating that nearly a third of persons diagnosed in PVS are actually in minimally conscious state.
Fins is chief of the medical ethics division of New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center.
With the exception of oblique references to Terri Schiavo, current coverage of the study and its implications dance around the most important issues regarding this study. Namely, thousands of people around this country with labels of both MCS and PVS are being starved and dehydrated, often without an advance directive indicating their wishes, or a durable power of attorney appointing a substitute decision-maker they chose for themselves.
Given the current research regarding brain activity and misdiagnosis, its a virtual certainty that countless people have been helpless to prevent their own deaths through starvation and dehydration, says Stephen Drake, research analyst for Not Dead Yet, a national disability rights group opposed to legalization of assisted suicide and euthanasia. Theres an analogy to DNA evidence and the death penalty. Here in Illinois, the staggering numbers of innocent and wrongly convicted people on Death Row resulted in a moratorium on the death penalty. Whether you agreed with the death penalty or not, everyone was forced to find ways to make sure no innocent person ended up on Death Row again. The same amount of concern should apply to medically induced deaths, in which the numbers far exceed the number of convicted people executed each year.
Not Dead Yet is calling for a moratorium on the withholding of feeding tubes from people in PVS and MCS until they can be tested under the same protocol used on individuals in the Neurology study.
State-of-the-art testing for cognitive activity should be a minimum standard to be applied when someones death is proposed. Just as the availability of DNA testing and competent counsel are accepted as essential to people being tried in capital cases, the new technical tools to evaluate cognitive activity and potential should be applied to individuals before feeding tubes are withdrawn. Even with this technology, there will probably still be mistakes.
But at least it will be the first step in reducing the number of conscious people dying from hunger and thirst in hospitals and nursing homes, aware of every minute and unable to cry out that they are awake.

GOVERNOR BUSH PLEASE SAVE THE STATE BEFORE YOU LEAVE OFFICE. Save the State from the death lobby, save Terri and future Terris. What has Jeb got to lose? I say he's got nothing to lose but everything to gain. He returns to South Florida with honor, not with guilt and shame.
NOT DEAD YET calls FOR a MORATORIUM on all DEHYDRATION and STARVINGS, because of the newly released information about people in comas (they are far more aware than many people thought)!!!!!
Taking someone's life is irreversible as Jeb's attorney Ken Connor puts it.
Courts almost never grant 'general standing'. On the other hand, it would seem like it should be possible for parents to file for an injunction against killing Terri pending guardianship, on the same basis that people can file injunctions to prevent the destruction of documents, animals, or artifacts until all matters related to their disposition are settled.
My personal suspicion is that somebody associated with Michael tried to inject Terri with something but was unsuccessful. Why would Michael assume vague scratches were needle marks unless he had some reason to suspect needle marks?
NOT DEAD YET - my hat's off to you. Keep up the good work.
However, I bet you could find some court in this country where such a case could be filed.
We have the TIMING of some GOOD NEWS working on our side for a change.
Diane Coleman is brilliant. She debated Felos here once and she beat the pants off of him. He has no arguments, just "the courts all said". Well, so what? We know they are polluted! Felos is like a child "Well, mommy said I could."
As the legal advocate of his client's right to die, Attorney George Felos plumbed the depths of death and dying and spearheaded a social revolution to enable death with dignity in the state of Florida.
Felos uses this case and a decade-long tax battle with the United States Justice Department - sending him to Hong Kong's back alleys in search of antique jades and ivories - as framework to interweave the story of his law practice and spiritual unfoldment.
Litigation as Spiritual Practice describes the excitement and drama of the courtroom, and the ecstasy and anguish of spiritual evolution in a combative environment.
If the seemingly barren and war-strewn field of litigation can be the playground where spirit dances, it can revel anywhere.
FV SAYS: This death stuff is a turn on for hino's attorney if the product description is to be believed. And, there's the tax battle with the US DOJ. fact or fiction?
I told you why, right or wrong.
Felos has no business representing Michael Schiavo. He's profiting from Terri's suffering. He's an exploiter. Isn't it against the law or something?
It would of been in the old days. Now we are compassionate conservatives.
Schiavo's Parents Looking For Public's Help
Feb 14, 2005 5:11 pm US/Eastern
TAMPA (AP) With their legal options narrowing, the parents of a woman at the center of a life-or-death legal fight are again mounting a campaign of public and political pressure in hopes of blocking their son-in-law from carrying out her death.
Bob and Mary Schindler announced Monday that Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry will again coordinate efforts to block the courts from allowing Michael Schiavo to disconnect his wife Terri's feeding tube.
Terry was a key player in a massive campaign to lobby state lawmakers and Gov. Jeb Bush in October 2003 to enact a law blocking her death. Michael Schiavo contends his 41-year-old wife who suffered severe brain damage 15 years ago would not want to be kept alive artificially; her parents contend she had no such death wish.
The case has been fought in the courts for nearly eight years, but on Friday the Schindlers were turned down in a new attempt to stop their son-in-law from removing the tube. They have also been unsuccessful in persuading either the Florida Supreme Court or the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene in the case.
But in a case that has drawn international attention and rallied right-to-life and religious forces worldwide, the Schindlers are now turning to the court of public opinion. In a statement released Monday, Bob Schindler described the move as an "effort to rescue Terri from the clutches of death by judicial homicide."
Protests are also planned outside the Pinellas Park hospice where Terri Schiavo now lives, Terry said, accompanied by e-mail and letter writing campaigns to lawmakers.
"Basically we are going to fight tooth and nail to save Terri from starvation," Terry said. "Part of this has to do with who has the will to save her and who has the will to kill her and whose will is stronger."
Terri Schiavo suffered severe brain damage at the age of 26 when a chemical imbalance brought on by an eating disorder caused her heart to stop beating. Some doctors have ruled that she is in a persistent vegetative state with no hope for recovery, but other doctors have said she has some mental capabilities.
She left no written directive for her family to follow. Michael Schiavo has testified his wife told him she wouldn't want to be kept alive artificially, but her family disputes she made such statements. The Schindlers say their daughter laughs, cries and responds to them.
In October 2003, the Florida Legislature and Bush enacted a new law allowing the governor to order Terri Schiavo's feeding tube be reinserted six days after it was removed.
Hundreds of thousands of e-mail and telephone message flooded the capital during days of tense debate on the issue; later some key lawmakers said they regretted being pressured into voting for the law.
The measure was struck by the Florida Supreme Court as unconstitutional and the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear the case last month.
The Schindlers have since launched a series of legal maneuvers aimed at either ordering a new trial on what their daughter's wishes would be or voiding the original judgment allowing Michael Schiavo to remove the feeding tube. But have yet to be successful in winning any permanent decision that would keep their daughter alive.
Michael Schiavo is looking to Feb. 22 as the next date in which he attempts to remove the tube again.
The Schindlers attorneys did not return telephone calls for comment Monday.
George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, said he doubted a new round of political pressure would move lawmakers to act.
"Certainly, the Florida Legislature would have to be much more reluctant to jump into this case now," Felos said. "I think the Florida Supreme Court made it clear that although they (lawmakers) may legislate prospectively for future cases, there is nothing they can do to overturn the result of Mrs. Schiavo's case."
There has been at least one bill filed which if enacted would apply to Terri Schiavo case. Rep. Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, has filed a bill that would not allow for the withdrawal of nutrition and hydration unless specifically noted in a living will. The bill would apply in cases currently in the court system, including the Terri Schiavo case.
The Schindlers contention their daughter is not brain-dead was buoyed last week by news from Kansas that a woman left in a coma 20 years ago in a car accident recently began to speak. Sarah Scantlin of Hutchinson, Kan., began to speak after years of only being able to communicate in the simplest ways.
Adding to their hopefulness, Terry said, was new medical research published in the journal Neurology showing brain scans of some severely brain damaged patients prompted a pattern of brain activity similar to that of healthy people.
The two men in the study were in a state doctors called "minimally-conscious," which is a higher level of functioning than being in a persistent vegetative state.
But Felos said neither of those terms pertains to Terri Schiavo, whose brain damage was so profound that she has no cognitive abilities. The sounds and expressions she makes are reflexes, not conscious attempts to communicate, Felos said doctors have ruled.
"There is no Terri inside there thinking, 'Oh, I hear a sound, let me turn and look at it,"' Felos said.
maybe it's voo doo lawyernomics. Judges are zombies for Felos.
"sending him to Hong Kong's back alleys" re: his book.
The whole thing is against the law, even Florida law. Problem is that there are no men there willing to stand up for for this young woman. They might get into trouble....
Proof of that is was when nothing happened the last time she was starved for almost 7 days. I don't think that could happen in my county in my state. To many farmers and to few cops.....
Too many politicians would have egg on their face if Terri ever recovers. Perhaps they need to read my tagline.
If there is a hell Felos is from it.
Yeah hopefully to some real dark alleys where he can test his powers of chi against hardened criminal gangs.
Your tagline would be more appropriate for the occasion if it was reversed, don't you think? This is exactly were we are at.
No, I think the problem is that politicians are afraid of getting egg on their face. If they refrain from saving Terri as a result of that fear, they will have blood on their hands. Egg on the face may be humiliating, but it comes clean much more easily than blood.
I understand, and I know that is a postive suggestion, but the fact is they would rather have blood on their hands than egg on their face. You watch.
They don't realize that blood is much harder to get clean. No matter how clever Michael et al. try to be, there's a good chance murder will out. And if it does, everyone who supported it is going to have blood-stained hands that will never come clean. But if the politicians instead act to save Terri, they'll find that the egg is washed away as soon as Terri is safe with her parents and Michael et al. are safely behind bars.
LOL I think that's how all our brains work, don't they?
I'm not going to be able to eat eggs without thinking of blood.
That's a DESPICABLE LIE and Felos knows it!
We must call and fax to urge the Florida State Legislature to PASS the above bill!
We need REAL men in the legislature. Let's pray Jeb is willing to try again!
If Terri were walking and talking then she wouldn't appear to be brain dead. And Michael couldn't starve her to death or stop her from telling the world how he viciously attempted to kill her the evening she collapsed.
Who cares about the time he killed her then? That was over a decade ago. How about the times since?
Bump for her sweet heart.
Gotta go for a while, so here's a BUMP for Terri
That shouldn't be. This is definitely News/Activism. Did you try to contact the Admin Moderator? Does anyone know or have means to find out and get this rectified?
Bernie McCabe must feel the pressure as does Greer.
I'm afraid when you get such large public support through elections as George W. Greer and, I presume, the incompetent McCabe as well, I doubt they even consider public "pressure." They don't worry about pressure: they GIVE pressure.
