Oh please. JC Watts is in the same class as Jack Kemp.
Oh please yourself. J.C. Watts may not be a presidential contender, but comparing him to Jack Kemp?

GWB won in 2004 because about 4 million religious conservatives/anti-abortion folks who didn't vote in 2000 turned out for him. If the party nominates a Powell and/or Rice, most of them won't turn out again and the Republicans lose. I certainly won't vote for either or any other pro-abortion candidate regardless which party they belong to.
Owens/Watts is much better ticket. If I could single handedly select the Republican party nominee it would be Maryland Lt Gov. Michael S. Steele.
He's a hard core true blooded conservative who would turn out the pro-life voters and the minorities in a big way.
