The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.

Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).

Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.

Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.

You are right. President Bush doesn't worry about showy hand gestures fitting with his words. He doesn't want showy words for his legacy....he wants to honestly talk to us....and we know he means every word of it. HE hugged Joe Lieberman.,,he instigated it out of gratitude because Lieberman has honestly defended this president out of conviction, and despite party differences.

President Bush sure has become a fabulous president these last four years. Back in 2000, he wouldn't have been able to give a speech such as this one....since 9/11 he has given several.

I'm glad that he started out talking about domestic issues and ended up talking about foreign affairs and freedom. Such a moving speech!
