Jewish Republican and Democrat groups fight about Howard Dean, places anti-Dean ads
Posted on 02/15/2005 1:59:17 PM PST by Cableguy
As the Flournoyian transition begins, the only significant opposition to Gov. Dean's short tenure has come from a Jewish political group and Republican state parties.
This weekend, the Republican Jewish Coalition, the leading group for, you guessed it, Jewish Republicans, opened a newspaper ad campaign criticizing Dean and alleging that his selection as DNC chair shows that Democrats don't take Jewish concerns seriously.
The full-page advertisement is running in major Jewish newspapers around the country, including papers in California, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New York, and Pennsylvania. To get to Hill elites, it's also running in Roll Call.
It features a comment by Dean in reference to the Middle East: "It's not our place to take sides."
(Contextually, the ad is a bit misleading, as Dean's position has been very Clintonesque . . . but it never seems to come out of his mouth that way.)
The ad also features quotes by prominent Democrats expressing concern about Dean and Israel.
The buy is small enough so that it won't distract the Dean transition train, but it will certainly get pick-up (like in The Note!!!), and it will remind some Democrats who are nervous about Dean why they are nervous about Dean.
The National Jewish Democratic Committee responded with an e-mail broadside yesterday, alleging that " GOP leaders launched a vicious smear campaign against him within the American Jewish community a campaign that dangerously politicizes support for Israel, threatening the crucial legacy of bipartisan support for Israel. Moreover, it blatantly mischaracterizes Howard Dean's record of support for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship."

Hey, did Dean ever release ALL the official papers in Vermont that he hid?

Get yourself a nice Jewish boyfriend. Keep a sharp

Dean ...Governor..we got small cities in California
with more people and bigger budgets than Vermont...A
Governor that balanced the budget?..with 2 Senators
and one Congressman....wowie....Forget the
alamo.,.This guy is a real motivator for "R's"
Just remember Dean's statement..."I hate Republicans."
Rallying cry for '06 and '08.....LOL....Jake
I grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, which was a very liberal town even when when I was there 30 years ago. Drinan, Frank, Kennedy, Kerry all had bases of support in Newton. The city also had a very influential Jewish population, and in my mind there has always been strong Jewish liberal support.
If allowed to fester, the antisemitic sentiment that is being created in the far-left will become a fatal fissure in the liberal bloc. Eventually it will serve to split the fanatics from the "mainstream" intellectual and business left.

No, he did not. There are stuff there that he doesn't want to show to the public.

LOL...I like walking around San Francisco in my Navy G-1 Flight Jacket covered in USN patches...People want to say something but I intimidate the heck out of 'em...
I'm on the lookout, indeed. It's not easy finding a Jewish conservative with an interest in aviation, no less.
haha......actually most wouldn't have a problem in most parts of SF but there are certain areas that would look at ya like you were a heathen or something......
I'm not Jewish, but I'm a pilot, and at times I seem to be surrounded by liberal Jews here in South Florida.
I just don't get the connection between being Jewish and liberal, since most EU types are very "liberal"(read Socialist) and their entire history, up to the present day, is not friendly to Israel, to say the least.
But then again, many of them here are not, as well.

There are many self-hating Jews out there - and they are the ones G-d warned us of; that our worst enemies would be some of our own. Liberal Jews bear so much responsibility for the degeneration of our society - it's so sad and frustrating.
What do you fly?
There are quite a few conservative Jewish men (politically conservatives, not necessarily Masorti) in New York. ;-)

Try the "recent" link:
Also, if you will poke around the tabs in your profile pages, somewhere- can't quite recall where- there is an option for changing the format, and it will make FD look a lot more like FR if you switch.
