So, Terri's fight is not just for Terri.

I am so glad you agree that we have to end this nationwide. Perhaps God is using Terri and the Schindlers (God Bless them!!!) to do this battle for us all.

Yes, indeed. Terri is a warrior and a heroine without even being aware of it. And her parents and siblings...my goodness, let's pin medals on these people and erect a statue somewhere! ;-D

They killed my mother. They wanted her to sign a DNR order YEARS before they finally killed her, but she wouldn't do it. She told me she wanted every means possible to resuscitate her because she knew they would kill her if they got half a chance. They finally did it by failing to treat an infection properly and sending her home where it got out of hand. I felt like I should have done more but you just can't pin these slippery bastards down.

I understand, but its not your family that you should be concerned about, its the hospitals, doctors, etc, and how they interpret it. It MUST be specific.

My mom refuses to have a will -- living or otherwise -- drawn up. I've finally given up...you can lead a horse to water, but...she won't listen to reason, no matter what I say. It's very frustrating.

My mother in law was in hospice the last month of her life, and it was eye-opening. The agreement was that if we were to take her to the hospital for any reason (she had hospice care in her home) then hospice would no longer help out. Truthfully, I don't know how much help they were anyway. We hired a lady to stay with her during the day, and then my sister in law stayed with her at night. The hospice nurse dropped by a couple of times a week to check on her. When it appeared that she was very near death, the nurse brought "terminal medications". The meds were a narcotic designed to "calm her" if she got agitated. In fact, they suppressed her respiration and she died more quickly.

That's known as "benign neglect". Happens all the time to patients that are so ill that further treatment is considered "futile".

That's the kind of stuff I am seeing and it is really making me angry. I don't think I can say anymore here. Thanks for posting this. It's just so manipulative.

When I read your post...have to admit...I hope the same thing. What justice that would bring about, talk about perfect endings.

However it falls out, I know, in my heart, that all of us need to pray deeply, with love in our hearts, grabbing onto that faith need only amount to a mustard seed of belief, to help move this mountain of deceit and travesty shiavo and his minions have built.

Pray. Everyone. Asking for forgiveness and pouring your heart out to our Father. He is love. And there is nothing the minions who move from hell can do to our Father's will. Nothing.

I definately got the notion that the death of the person in hospice was the goal, and that doing anything to prolong her life, such as hospitalizing her if we felt we needed to, was "not allowed". At the time, I wasn't thinking very clearly, because we were all exhausted, but afterwards, the memory of some of the things that happened have haunted me.

"George Felos, who represents Teri's husband Michael, criticized the DCF move, saying it 'reeks of the intervention of politics' in this case"

Like Felos' affiliation with Judge Greer and other authorities in this matter wasn't political? Give us ALL a break.
