When my friend and I were about 14 we were helping with Vacation Bible School at our little country church. We were outside playing "drop the hankie" with the littlest kids when one little boy in the center of the circle whipped his out and took care of business. It was kind of mortifying for the two of us but none of the other little kids seemed to care a whit.

Two to four year olds belong with their mothers - some mothers have to work, fortunately my wife is a teacher at their school and gets to see them throughout the day. If you would like to send us enough money to pay our San Francisco mortgage, I am sure she would be happy to stay home.

Sorry, I'm not buying what you're selling.

Two to four year olds belong with their mothers. There are plenty of places in this country where folks can live and survive just fine on the husband's income. The reason that people put forward the argument that you just did is because they want a certain "lifestyle". Are our children in this country paying the price for that?

Two to four year olds belong with their mothers, not some public indoctrination center - actually as implied in my earlier post my wife works at that indoctrination center educating children to be successful students. It is the only indoctrination center er um school in San Francisco that had 100% graduation.

There's a big difference between this and some teacher "requiring" a child to "do their business" in a pail in front of the class. This teacher needed to be fired instantly.

"In other words, blame the lawyers."

Also to blame is the "union".

Graduation from preschool? Wow! I'm impressed! </sarcasm>

Two to four year olds need to be at home with their mothers learning how to be obedient and Godly children, not in some indoctrination facility (especially San Francisco).

Sorry, I'm not buying what you're selling - I don't ask that you buy anything, I am giving you a fact that some people including my wife and I feel no qualms about starting our childrens education as early as possible. You are typical of what I care little for and that is telling other people how they should live their life. I am not saying our way is the right way but it is the way we are going. If you don't like it fine, but I do not think it is any of your business telling me how to raise my children.

Graduation from preschool? Wow! I'm impressed! - sorry my bad, the school goes from preschool through 12th grade. It is the 12th graders that graduated 100%. Thanks for the smart alec remark.

"DD" is usually shorthand for "dear daughter".

And my children were with me...after I got home from the job I took in order to support them and myself.

You don't state if you are a single parent. If so, then of course you will need to work in order to bring in income.

However, if folks are married then they can make ends meet on the husband's income. Sometimes that might mean the husband working two jobs, but that is part of his responsibility.

"Homeschool the kids!!!

They will be fed, no violence, no bullying, no drugs, no sex, no lockdowns, etc."

Hmm, tell that to my coworker whose oldest homeschooled daughter got caught smoking pot and getting it on with a homeschooled boy from church.

I'm just telling you the way that the Bible instructs us to raise our children, not "Politicket's" way. Read the book of Psalms since it is the absolute best child-rearing book around.

If you want to argue with that then have at it. You're feeding right into the lies of the NEA who have a desire to begin the education of children at birth, away from the authority of the parents.

It is the 12th graders that graduated 100%.

Many years ago I might have applauded this. However, the current requirements to graduate from high school are so meaningless as to be laughable.

Also, I'm not calling you a liar, but you might want to double check your statistics. There is no metropolitan high school in this country that graduates 100%, for a large variety of reasons (slow learners, drugs, drop-outs, teen pregnancies, etc.)

I can occasionally be persuaded by a very cogent argument; otherwise it's my way or no way.

You could always move...

Granted, this is just my opinion on the situation - but it's what my husband and I chose to do because we couldn't make it on just his salary and live in the place we wished to live. Did we make sacrifices? YES - many... but that is what being a parent is all about...

I worked in a daycare before having my children and if there is anything that is leading to the bad attitudes and disrespect of our young people it's being in a daycare for 8-12 hours/5 days a week - some from as young as 6 weeks old! No matter what spin you put on it these children feel neglected and abandoned... ALL of the children in my classes felt this way - to a young child with no understanding of economics the ONLY thing that matters to them is that their parent is choosing to be at work instead of with them.

If both parents HAVE to work - then get alternating shifts so one parent is always available - at least when the kids are young.

I hate that this sounds like I'm being "righteous" but I'm sick of people saying they have "no choice" about both parents working and leaving the care of their children to others.
