This physician, dr. cranford, would have BEEN WELL RECEIVED back in Germany in the 1930's

Is he this centuries Dr. Josef Mengele?

if not, there are others - these personalities exist in every generation and country - the only thing that keeps them in line is laws - dilute them, let loopholes get slipped in that allow them to operate - and they WILL.

We must allow them to get a foothold

>>>>Should we allow another fellow human starve to death because we determined that their life as it is is less valuable than ours......

>>Some freepers seem to think so.

Thats a good observation,

But I would hardly consider them true freepers regardless of their sign-up dates after they resorted to freepmailing dozens of terri-haters, forming a club and hiding out in their own repugnant anti-christian WPPFF threads for the purpose of bashing, trashing, and egging on the most left-leaning and DU types; encouraging anyone and everyone who was willing to slime Terri-supporters on their behalf. One of their favorite phrases was [and this is paraphrased] ~go out and attack... but don't lead them back here~.

Their cowardly leaders would as a last resort, when they were tired of a thread or losing an argument, even try to shutdown debate by quoting obscure FR rules as if they were a moderator, but then do that only selectively, ONLY against those they disagreed with, and they NEVER corrected their own buddies.
They collectively even broke FR rules themselves in their own backrooms, frequently laughing and joking about successful flames, making up drinking games for successful baiting responses, etc.

The recent FR poll that asked "Was it wrong to kill Terri Schiavo?"

Some of the terri-haters felt FR was at it's height with the Dan Rather defrocking.
Now they feel FR is at its low because of their own defrocking.

You have certainly had a monstrous struggle - but I don't detect at any time that you wanted to NOT have your life saving procedures. This should be our decision and ours alone - no GD doctor or judge should have the say so...

we humans have an incredible will to stay alive - against the odds and with much disability...rather brave people, we earthlings ;o)

Organ transplants need to outright outlawed in light of the potential abuse and complexities.

need to be deeply investigated

How dare they make the recipient's life more valuable than the donor's life?

I have always suspicioned many donor's "die", not for the recipient, but the hospital who makes a whopping amount of money on the procedure

And approaching a family whose loved one has just been injured to coerce them into letting them die ---these people are in no state of mind to make such decisions -

Then present him with a mirror with a picture of a demon on it

but he already has such a mirror - well, it's a regular mirror, but when he looks in it, he sees a demon

ABSOLUTELY!

And I know you meant at the end of your post that we must NOT allow them to get a foothold!

Oh yes! You are dead on!

I'd also like to point out that the first thread they took over for their purposes was originally a thread supporting Terri. Many of us went there to post messages of support, and were attacked for "trespassing" on "their" thread.

This guy Cranford appears like a souble of "Kavorkian". I believe this post should be related to members of Congress.

The recent FR poll that asked "Was it wrong to kill Terri Schiavo?"
Had over 85% of Freeper members agreeing: Yes it was wrong.
The noisy Terri-haters club though, fell into the 8% who said No, it wasn't wrong.

That 8 percent crowd have already made their pact with Hell. They'll get what's coming to them, if not in this life, the next.

However I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up in a 'euphoric' state and starved to death like Terri Schindler in *this* life due to some judicial decree from a future Judge Greer.

Then, they won't be quite so enthusiastic, and they will no doubt be pleading for friends (if they have any) to defend them on forums just like FR.

Dr. Death gets around - seemingly with one agenda.

It seems he doesn't have time to spend with legitimate patients, which is a good thing if that is the case. I mean, who wants to go to a doctor whose goal is to make non-terminal patients become terminal? (Hmm, did he renounce his Hippocratic oath?)

The challenges and costs of maintaining (FILL NAME OF FIRST APPROPRIATE GROUP) will pale in comparison to the problems presented by (FILL IN NAME OF SECOND APPROPRIATE GROUP).

Of course, the largest group using up most of our resources is not Alzheimers or brain injury patients. It is the retarded and physically disabled from birth. Some retarded people can live in assisted living situations, but there are also some who must be institutionalized and cared for every day of their lives. Some of them never exhibit awareness. No doubt, they're next on the list, after the "problem" of the brain injured and diseased has been taken care of.

I predict it will be assumed everyone to be a doner and a person will have to opt out.

There have already been laws proposed to do just that. It's as bad as the movement (illustrated by the Terri case) towards assuming that incapacitated people would rather die, unless they have a living will stating specifically that they want to live.

Case in point: abortionists. If a would-be serial murderer can hold off long enough to get into and through medical school, he's set. (Try reading a medical journal description of a new abortion procedure: abortionists are ghouls.)

The Florida statutes make no mention whatsoever of the minimally-conscious state

Right. I wasn't quoting Florida law -- only trying to convey the implications as I understood them.

by the definition of PVS that they have, Terri wouldn't have qualified, because she did respond sometimes to her environment or other stimuli. The Florida law says that a person is PVS when there is "no response of any kind".

Yes. We're starting to see here, in many examples posted on this board, that judges simply disregard the evidence and declare a person to be in PVS (and/or "terminal") when the patient clearly is NOT!

"they resorted to freepmailing dozens of terri-haters, forming a club and hiding out"

The justification for their snottiness was their "Freeper sign-up seniority" - or tenure.

Let's not forget Ward Churchill's dependence on tenure to spew his vitriol and hang on to his job.

Animal Farm critters!
