A little trivia: contrary to what you may be thinking, it will not be redundant to put the GM badge on GMC trucks... GMC originally stood for "Grabowsky Motor Company"
This is an admission of failure. Sell your GM stock.
let me rephrase that...
GM pays an average of $3500 per year, per employee, retiree or family member...which ads up to over 1 million people.
Great idea!
Can we get ford to put the blue oval on all Volvos? The libs' heads will explode! :^)
You gotta be kidding! My 2000 SC1 has been a dream car. The only problems she's had are ones I've inflicted on her.
LOLOLOLOL
it won't . they should add "look for the union label" too.
Saturn has lost money in 11 of the last 12 years.
yowch.
How fitting. For 40 years, I've been at a loss to find much different, between the brands.
The publics has caught on, too. A few years back a flap came up, when Caddy buyers found "Chevrolet" motors, under the hoods.
From what I've been reading lately, GM appears to be a big, confused, poorly managed organization.
The company that brought the Aztec to market (and kept it there, even after it was a late night joke).
The company that killed off the Camaro and Firebird, with no replacements.
The company which went to Australia, for a GTO replacement.
The company that persists with "badging" expecting Saab buyers to be fooled by a Suburu or a Trailblazer.
Etc.
I don't blame you - Pontiacs are plenty ugly already.
hysterical..although I did'nt appreciate shooting Jim Beam and Coke through my nose in the process..
This should really cut down on SAAB and Cadillac sales, if that is what they are trying to do. Might as well buy a Chevy or a Buick if they are all going to be blended together for marketing.
Gas mileage, too.
GMC
After the General Motors Company was founded in 1908, it soon became known as one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. In 1909, the Grabowsky Rapid Motor Vehicle Company (GMC) joined with GM. The trade name GMC Trucks was first exhibited in 1912 at the New York Auto Show and was registered with the United States Patent Office eight months later. Now known as the high-end truck-building division of General Motors, the "GMC" in GMC Truck stands for General Motors Corporation.
> Aware that many consumers are unaware that Cadillac, Saab,
> Chevrolet and other brands are part of General Motors Corp.
Well, there's the problem. Their customers are ignoramuses,
and flashing a badge isn't going to fix that.
> Advertising 101: When you've got nothing left to say,

And don't forget to put "spinvent" under it, like Carly did.
I think GMC stood for General Motors Truck Company, when Rapid, Reliance and some others were merged into the GM umbrella.
