Yes they are. I'd never let one in my garage. Pretty much for the greaser set, I guess. IMO.
Ahhh, nope. Looks like a Mitsubishi with those stooopid headlights. Now we're copying the Japs? Sad.
There was another "GMC" in the early days of the automobile. The Oklahoma manufactured Geronimo Motor Company.
I'm saabing for you. FWD? What a shame for an overpriced car.
Always view numbers with some skepticism. Also, is the author of an article objective and what point of view does a publication represent,if any. $5K seems very high.
Bingo!
As well as the Caddy converts.
Then in the 80s, they dropped the Fiero, Mazda Miata and Toyota jumped in. Then GM spent a fortune developing a totally new engine for the Aurora, spent a ton of money promoting in NASCAR, then a few years later; shut down the Olds line. These GM a$$holes do not have a flippin' clue.
My exact thoughts
That will be damn good for America and American workers. Is the really what it means to be a conservative in America today. Cater to a Communist coutry for the benefit of corporate profits.
Lenin was right when he said," The capitalist will sell us the rope to hang them with."
Your comment stuck me as those of a traitor to America and the liberty of her citizens.
I have been hearing complaints from LEO's about front wheel drive cars in police service. Most frequent complaint has been motor mounts. It's not limited to any manufacturer, since I have also heard complaints about the Ford Taurus in police service.
LOL. Please tell me more.
What would a car cost if GM wanted only a half a billion dollars per month profit???
I've heard (on this very website) that most of GM's profits come from GMAC, their financing arm. It's almost as if the only reason they make cars is so they can loan you the money to buy one.
I suppose that's one way to get rid of all the Daewoos.
***snicker***
Thanks for that.
"My Saab is devoid of GM markings. I hope it stays that way."
So is my 2000 9-5. But the next model year, the hood badge changed, to reflect "full" GM ownership of Saab vehicles.
Old badges "Saab Scania" reflecting the Auto/Aircraft Swedish company.
New badges "Saab" reflecting the Auto portion which GM owns 100%.
That isn't the worst. I expect GM has little to no interest in Saab's technical abilities.
The 2.3 liter turbocharged motor is rated up to 250 hp, with huge low rpm torque (in Aero form).
The lines of the 9-5 are clean, understated. (no doubt some recall older funny looking Saabs)
The interior design of Saabs is excellent, for comfort, safety, materials, finish, and best of all instrumentation and ergonics.
My pick would be a newly designed 9-5 Aero Wagon, with AWD, shift paddles on the steering wheel, navigation and satellite radio.
If GM let Saab do thier own thing, I believe that would occur. More likely, GM will continue to "badge" Suburus and Chevy Trailblazers, as "Saabs."
BTW I'm not knocking Suburu. They are an innovative company, making interesting vehicles (if not great looking).
The Ford Taurus is a front wheel drive car. The front wheel drive cars cannot be handled at speed as well as rear wheel drive. Although NASCAR allows Ford to place rear wheel drive in the Taurus race car, That car is front wheel drive designed. If front wheel drive handled better they would be racing it as produced.
Also front wheel drive is very expensive to repair.
The cops loved the Chevy Impala when it was rear wheel drive it handled better than the Crown Vic and had more power. I have been expecting Police to start buying the Chrysler made Magnum or 300 with the new Hemi, Havent seen it yet , but I expect it soon.
Maybe Renault will put its logo on all Nissans, and Ford will put the blue oval on Mazdas.
Think of it more as a warning label...
