The End is Greer

The End is Greer

A pilgrim showed up on the last day at the last hours and contributed that single statement. The End is Greer indeed.

The dust already settles and time will soon obscure our memories of the most dramatic event I would ever have imagined, the collision of good and evil in sunny Pinellas Park. Separation of Church and State is oxymoron here as we bore witness to the State sponsored murder of an innocent, an event to lock the State and our religion in a death grip. (Focus on this post is the political and our own roles and I will separate the topic from a religious forum item as best I can.)

The enemy we faced is summarized in the New Testament:

John:8:44:

44 You are of your father the devil: and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning: and he stood not in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof. (DRV)

It is a humbling experience to be counted among eminent FReepers like Floriduh-voter and amdgmary and those on scene who were so helpful, and certain FRiends behind the scene who helped tirelessly from their keyboards. Arriving there as an upstart early in March, I was quickly welcomed so well, with a near instant recognition that I soon felt inappropriately as an old hand like they truly are. A joy of a real conservative is that we do not have to organize into a tight structure to get things done, but can find our own niches and contribute according to our talents, without interference from our cohorts. Organizing us is tantamount to herding cats.

It would be unfair to talk about some of the FReepers there without mentioning all since all were there out of their own sacrifices and for higher reasons. But if anyone twisted my arm until I squealed, I would have to nominate Floriduh-voter for whatever award we could conceive and would follow wherever she may lead the charge, flag in hand.

Here in snippets is one story evolved from the crime scene.

From the beautiful sunny Florida crime scene, at Woodside Hospice, the huge sarcophagus does its thing, fulfilling the dreams of Felos de se to torture Terri to death. A single vulture flies in from the north, circles the death chamber and flies away, a mark beginning the hour of Terri's death.

Two dimensions emerged, the one being the epic battle of good and evil, the one of my faith which was paramount and the inexorably linked political battle ensuing as masks peeled off.

For us FReepers, it was a telling time, our being thrust into the role as witnesses to this monster travesty but as once more a check and balance to the mainstream media. Indeed at times, we integrated with the media, not just as gatherers of news and disseminators, but as a check to ensure the news at least got past the front lines, even if it wound up on the cutting room floor at their headquarters.

With time, we developed a certain comradery with the newsies there and were acknowledged to the point when news conferences took place we were in the pen with them, even helping to root out infiltrators and those not really press. Resented by some and respected by others, we finally shared the same status as we might wish to get a story out. Heads and hands filled with facts, we would be skirted by our compadres as they approached more likely victims to interview. They knew the 95% of what we said would not reach the public through their channels and it wasted their precious time.

If FReepers here noticed, I posted none of my own threads, as better talents than I could do better. Also, some of us were under constant constraint as to internet access and a break away from the scene is an emotion of abandonment of Terri even if for short periods. That is why I confined my posts to threads existing and to pings and to drive-by posts. It would be tough to start a thread like this vanity and not be nearby to respond as I can do now. Even when able to respond, I could only focus on direct replies and had scarce time to read. That way, the chance events went uncovered by us was rare indeed.

A tribute to the unsung heros

Certain people stood out in their dedication, ones who rarely appeared in stories or called attention to themselves, yet sacrificed powerfully. The first in this category was when shortly after arriving and being on the scene very late at night. In the pouring rain a tiny contingent stood vigil. One of these was in a wheelchair, strong, determined, and camouflaging any discomfort. She was there to stand vigil for Terri. Sometimes the press would seek her out and she would answer forthright but would not seek any attention. She was there for Terri, not for anyone else. Another was there day and night in a motorized wheelchair, likewise shrugging off any discomfort, having stood by for Terri for a long, long time. She gathered info and shared it with who would listen, and kept to her powerful faith. These two typified a category of courageous defenders of Terri and belied attempts of detractors to explain away any selfish motives. Certainly, they could be justified in self interest of protecting their own handicaps from future monsters like Greer, but clearly their presence was to support Terri, just that simple. Numerous parents came with their own handicapped children, some similar to our own son, and they too, showed the higher motives of interest in Terri. Many handicapped were in similar state as Terri before the Exit Protocol commenced. Yes, a few were there, worried about their own status, but I do not include them in my personal list of the noble.

The owner of the antique shop must have lost much during this episode, yet still made her facilities available to the Schindler family and to us FReepers. Monsignor Malinowski stood solidly by for Terri, taking risks time and again, real ones, not just in words, since the bad guys feared his faith so much. That goes for Brothers Paul and Hilary who acted as spokes people for the family, and for Rev. Pat Mahoney and the much maligned Randall Terry, who both worked hard and humbly behind the scenes. And when some in the group of supporters fell despondent, they were comforted by none other than the Schindler family, themselves. I could go on and on in book form to chronicle the heroics of those who in the words of Ronald Reagan, simply lived the creed, "It is amazing what you can do when you don't care who gets the credit."

An enormous volume of truth boiled forth in the sacred ground of those standing up for Terri. Volumes and tomes remain to be written here, elsewhere, and on our religious forum and Lord willing that will follow, this epic story leaking out through the powerful dams. We FReepers can rest easy that we did what we could to insure much and maybe most of the truth got out in essence already.

Coming here, as I mentioned in my first post stating my intentions, I came to stand by Terri. This was and is from my faith as an ordinary traditional Catholic. The majority of newfound friends here came for similar reasons, for their own and sometimes diverse faiths recognizing, all of us, this epic battle of good and evil and declaring ourselves on the side of good. An amazingly small number came to grandstand, to get their mugs in front of the cameras, and did get camera time, but little respect or from any of us or the press. We were fascinated at the opposition as well and realized engagement in debate is what they sought. Unlike us, they are no more spontaneous than we come to expect of liberals, boring in their predictability, and lack of true zeal, only the parroting of mantras. At the Reverend Jackson brief, it was a classic appearance.

Three infiltrators appeared out of nowhere. One had even apologized to me previously for his comments, and wanted to be friends with me after I told him what I thought. But he appeared on assignment as would any actor or performer arriving at work to do his job. He performed, and the press rushed to him, ignoring the 99% good guys to get his rehearsed comments. I guessed he was being paid to appear. He did not like to just hang around and felt uncomfortable as if he knew he was betraying the truth. The other two were blatant in-your-face homosexuals, also appearing and vanishing on cue. This time, one with a bit of white foam on the corner of his lips spewed his venom while one closest to me smirked. When the second was cued for his lines, he described the violence of us maniac religious right and all the violence abounding here, with us who were praying, saying the Rosary, etc. Be assured some media hued to this "wisdom" which made us sound as on the edge of riot. In truth, I cannot remember a large group so deserving of holding righteous anger restraining themselves so well. It was miraculous how we all experienced the contagion of seeking the best for Terri. But if his lies were the diametric opposite, he happily unmasked once the tv camera shifted, turning to us with a sneer so expressive it was comical, laughing at his comments about violence.

Many here recall Hollywood Mary, who was around most of the time and was fairly harmless, just wanted to get a face in the camera. Some others were similar and likewise were treated with charity. At least one negative press, though, treated her as a parody as if she were more of the scene than she really was. And we had our circus performers, jugglers, and clowns, and we suspected as with the infiltrators, they may have been paid to alter the glimpses of reality for the media.

Tender cruelties

Witnessing the litany of cruelties visited by Felos de se and company on poor Terri I marveled at how far they would go to inflict just one more painful jab. From afar the stories of benevolent Michael might be explained away or rationalized. Here on the scene they washed with nobody. When I say nobody, I mean even the bad guys, a small number and clearly avoided the praying groups. They did not like being there, except when driven powerfully by whatever dark forces worked. Evidence of cruelty fluttered everywhere, hard and convincing evidence in amazing volume. It is still around and will leak inevitably to the rest of us and much already has. The bottom line is that intentional cruelties persisted unabated right to the end with the only relief, solid interventions. I leave it to all of you to determine what directed such evil behavior to drive that phalanx of enemies against Terri.

Why fight so vigorously to have a Catholic priest simply touch her swollen tongue with Communion according to her faith or even give her a drop of water? Monsignor was allowed in on day 12 of her dehydration/starvation diet, and did so wearing the uniform of the Army General Officer he is. But armed guards stood by to protect (? ) Terri so that Monsignor would not give her a touch of nourishment.

Something for everyone

Opportunities abound for conspiracy enthusiasts and sundry paranoids to feed their thoughts. As we in the crowds would engage in frank discussions there, private in nature, and perhaps juicy tidbits, something might happen. I look down at my feet and see one of the big tv cameras parked at my feet, with the mike poised right where it could capture our whispers. Later the owner would come by, say "oops" and pick up this valuable "misplaced" item. Seated in discussions with my friend, she notices a tv cameraman has backed up towards us, the mike facing towards us, his backing so the mike is between my friend and me, and he is facing away gazing innocently into the sky, whistling to himself. My friend raises a Styrofoam protest sign to block it and he spins around embarrassed, and moves away apologizing ever so slightly. Wow, where is the roll of Alcoa? And, of course, as I already posted, motorcycle gendarmes surrounded me, shouting, sirens screeching, pulled me over one time as I had already driven away from the pre-crime scene. Took about a half hour to nail me on the crime of having a recently expired Maine license plate tag. That is almost as bad a crime as starving a rat around here. I almost had to go to the Winn-Dixie shopping center to get a stainless colander to hold down my Alcoa head wrap. And of course we could not avoid noticing the S.W.A.T. emblems on some of the uniforms.

As Attorney Felos de se with Attorney Dethnell went around the back on Day 12, we suppose to communicate with Terri on a higher (or lower) plane, the press gathered and the more sporty of those around the crowds encouraged all to run down and stir things up, perhaps a riot if they were lucky. Sadly for them, the crowd standing by Terri in her last hours is of greater stock expected and confounds the enemies by resolute calm.

I had little affection or interest in Sean Hannity before this event, but must say he stayed, told the truth and pushed out a lot of information we thought would never make it past the edits. Without his efforts, we would have scurried more and accomplished less. Seeing the truth before us and hearing him disseminate it faithfully, I give him highest marks.

It became obvious to all there what really was happening behind the doors to that grim vault. Those on both sides could hardly help but realize the truth. So when I would hear equivocation of the truth from others, talk show hosts, and ilk damning with faint praise, I realized their take was intentional and not just a different opinion. We do not have opinions on the rising sun in the morning. It rises, period.

We watched the progressions through the courts, could predict the results, 100% in support of the murder. We waited and agonized as the cavalry failed to appear. We waited for Gov. Jeb to be the Catholic he purports to be, to come rescue. At times even the cops looked worried that they would have to confront a true rescue. They needn't have bothered. Nothing would be forthcoming. The Governor showed no sign of heroism and the Florida Legislature with Sen. King marched in the same lockstep.

And it unfolded in a pattern we could not miss, through Holy Week to Good Friday to Holy Saturday, to Easter Sunday with matching actors for all roles as if a sequel to "The Passion".

Terri put the lie to them all. She wanted to live and she proved it.

Thank you, Terri, for all you brought us.

george felos, michael schiavo and judge greer should all be buried face down when they die so they can see where they're going.

Actually, it was never legal, just expedient. I do not believe you will ever find where a probate court judge has the legal right to order the execution of someone (even in Floriduh), especially someone as disabled as Terri, but Greer did just that as easily understood by reading the order he issued for her death.

As Jesus said: "The little child will lead them."

I read on World Net Daily, that children with feeding tubes, sent Terri greeting cards to cheer her up.

you're right, I didnt make the cartoon, and it is GREER saying that, so I can see HIM thinking and saying it is legal, whether or not it really was.

Without being just another voice -- let me say this was wonderfully written; filled me once again with the desperate feelings of helplessness that I felt through all of this tragedy and was so terribly informative.

Because of my extreme depression about this, I did not read all of the threads and your revelation about parents with children with disabilities really touched my soul.

I have a cousin John, who was damaged after birth, who is now in his early thirties, who has never been institutionalized and has never been able to think cognitively about anything but the love of his petite Mom and his family of Dad, siblings, and a huge family who loves him. His smile is radiant and we all tell him of our love for him whenever he is around, whether in his specially made chair or in his Mom's arms. John is spoon fed baby food (first stage is all he can handle). Terri's face so resembled John's inner joy in all of those pictures and it came very close to home and family whenever I saw her picture.

Thank you for your eloquent post and God Bless you my fellow Catholic for being there for me and others just like me.

"blobs of flesh."

Like babies in the womb are "blobs of cells." Dehumanize people and you can do whatever you want to them.

One Scientology cultist actually used that term about Terri. She compared it incredibly to her own precious "quality of life".

She was lucky too, her own "quality of life" wasn't threatened right there, surrounded by us protesters. But it was so shocking, people just stared at her stupidity dumbfounded. It didn't rate a response.

Thanks for your support.

Thanks so much for putting your experiences and thoughts down for us! It is so depressing to think of all that was done, not done, to/for Terri. It's a whirlwind in the mind. Yet somehow I think many of us feel that we failed her.
