CHINESE WOMAN ARRESTED IN FRANCE ON INDUSTRIAL ESPIONAGE CHARGES

Received Monday, 2 May 2005 19:01:00 GMT

VERSAILLES, France, May 2 (AFP)

A Chinese woman accused of industrial espionage during an internship with car equipment manufacturer Valeo has been detained in custody, legal sources said Monday.

The woman has denied charges of "intrusion in an automatic data system" and "abuse of confidence" after allegedly copying features of a number of cars that are still on the drawing board.

During a search of her home Friday police found six computers and two hard drives with a "huge capacity" and containing material considered confidential by the Valeo directors.

The young woman, who has a number of degrees including mathematics, applied physics and fluid mechanics, had been an intern since February at Valeo offices in Guyancourt, a suburb of Paris.

An executive noticed her frequently walking around the office carrying her portable computer.

A source close to the inquiry described the woman, who speaks German, Spanish, English, French and some Arabic, as "brilliant" and of "exceptional competence".

Nothing better for America could happen than having the Chinese steal French "Technology". That'll slow 'em down.

The United States is full of huge numbers of industrial spies, under the direction of the Chinese military.

The hundreds of millions of dollars illegally paid by Chinese Military Intelligence to the Clintons and the DNC during the 1990's were not just because Hillary has such a sweet personality and high morals.

3-4 years ago, Europe caught the US red-handed, spying and tapping and listening into the European Email ,Fax and other telecommunication systems. The US esponiage was to learn about European MNCs and Corporations quotations etc eg to the Middle East etc. This Chinese girl' case is minute comparatively

Boy, did the Europeans made a big row of it, when they discovered the US operations

This is the famous American "OPERATION ECELUNT"( spelling incorrect)

Don't the French know how it's done? A $100,000 "campaign contribution" to Chirac, and then a French company can accidentally release the secrets to a visiting Chinese scientist. That's a much more efficient way to give China the information that will allow them to threaten you.
