Sorry for my crappy HTML skills
I heard the report. No backing data.
KSFO hasn't had a perfect track record for accuracy. For instance, Melanie and Lee have said on several occasions that California never belonged to Mexico, that it went straight from Spanish rule to US. Ummmm? Helloo??? What about the treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo???

Not a named eyewitness listed anywhere in your link.
I wouldn't worry too much, probably just got low on fuel and looking for some firewood.
Yes, there were multiple reports to law enforcement and the story was carried locally by the Nogales International News. It was online at:

Wick News Service__A large Mexican military helicopter carrying about half a dozen armed men landed on the U.S. side of the border April 22 and showed interest in a fuel truck there, reports an Arivaca man who confronted the leader._No one was injured in the short standoff, "but if I'd been carrying a gun I might be dead now," said R. D. Ayers._Ayers was there on business._The helicopter landed on a road near where Ayers was working at the Tres Bellotas Ranch. _He said he talked in Spanish to the leader of the detachment. The Mexican officer wore a sidearm, while the others who remained inside the helicopter carried rifles Ayers said._The leader, standing on the ground, indicated he wanted to inspect the fuel truck, parked less than 100 yards away, Ayers said._"This is the United States, not Mexico. Leave," Ayers said he told the leader._When the officer looked toward the fuel truck, Ayers said, "You can_t go there."_After a few tense minutes, the helicopter took off, flying south._The U.S. Border Patrol said Wednesday that it had been notified by a woman in the area that a helicopter had landed there._"But by the time our agents got there it was gone," a spokesperson for the Tucson sector said April 27. The spokesperson said she knew of no follow-up investigation._Ayers operates a backhoe service and was working there._He's also a volunteer medical technician with the Arivaca Fire Department._Tres Bellotas Ranch is about 10 miles by air south of Arivaca, but it's much longer by land over twisty, unpaved Tres Bellotas Road._Ayers speculated the men in the helicopter wanted to seize the truck and take it into Mexico for possible use later to drive back and forth across the border._Ayers said he received a message from the FBI to say nothing about the incident. An FBI spokesperson in Phoenix couldn't be reached for comment._The trucking company did not return a call seeking information.__Editor's note: Jim Lamb is a reporter for the Green Valley News and Sun._ ____
