Revenge of the Sith--I've seen it!

Well, you can all relax. While ROTS isn't a masterpiece, it's pretty darn good.

I managed to slip into a preview showing earlier today and had a thoroughly good time. Yes, it's pretty grim in places. Yet if anything, I'd say it wasn't grim enough.

The opening battle will have your jaw hitting the floor. Wall-to-wall butt-kicking on a cosmic scale. And the betrayal of the Jedi...well, it really, really hurts. Even when you know it's coming, it hurts.

Oh, yes. This one's a keeper.

I hope so, after the incredible let-down of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

I need to go see a decent new movie!

Not a lotta Chewie, alas. But there's a whole big battle on his homeworld.

Great, but that's not the most important thing. In that three seconds PLEASE say that Jar-Jar dies an agonizing and gruesome death. Oh, please let it be true.

I'd pay to see Jar-Jar and Wesley Crusher have a duel to the death.

Mark

Were you the guy on line with me at the Post Office? He said the exact same thing about the comedy - he said it was not 'star wars funny' but genuinely funny, and it would be one of teh aspects people would be talking about opening weekend.

He also said everyone in the cast was good, notably the Emperor, and that Yoda kicks serious arse at times. :-)

Yo, Mark, when Jar Jar and Wesley fight that duel, can we hold it on board the Titanic?

Perverse incentives is an economic term, not a sexual one. It is when you pay somebody to do something you don't want him to do. It seems most regulation these days is replete with examples of the government encouraging people to behave badly.

No, I'm not the post office guy, but we have remarkably similar tastes. Including the part about Palpatine. Actually, I'd go further. The guy positively steals the show. It's like he's the only member of the cast that can really act. More likely, he's the only one with enough chops to transcend the material. Palpatine gets a lot of screen time in this flick, and he's the most fully rounded, credible character in the movie. Maybe in any of the Star Wars movies, ever. Really good work.

I have a feeling that ROTS will make ROTJ appear much stronger... With the Vader issues and the Emperor doing his thing again.

I'm glad to hear that this movie is worth seeing. I went to see "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," last week. I was so disappointed. It really stunk.

Pay-Per-View Bonanza!

If they could make it a double bill with Paris Hilton vs. Linda Rondstat on the undercard, they could charge whatever price they liked.

They'd both die.

Jar Jar would annoy Wesley to death but not before Wesley spills his science project on Jar Jar, which kills him (and destroys the rest of the universe at the same time).

Hilton v Ronstadt would be a very short fight...Linda picks Paris up by the waist and eats her like a Slim Jim.

LOL, I could have told you that from the hype and the trailers. Hitchhiker's Guide is supposed to be funny and I could tell that they totally missed that point. It also looked to be heavy on "oooooh-aaaaah" CGI special effects, which is a dead giveaway for a really crappy story.

Nowadays, I apply the "California filter" to movies: if it was made in California, I don't even consider it. The moviemakers there are clueless.
