Thanks for assembling these links. I've been really puzzled by the references to "Dominionists" that I've started seeing in the press. I'm a Christian, and I had never heard of them until the left dug them up. And now it appears that we're all members!

Thank you both-- I've been sending this stuff in bits & pieces to religious groups in our community, and finally got it all together in one place-here.

People of Faith need to see this stuff for what it is- it's developing an ugly taint.

I think it's a useful concept. There are certain backlashes against secularism that are going too far. We on the right should be ready to identify them and know the best way to limit their impact on politics. There are implications in extreme dominionism that bode seriously ill for a free republic.

A proper reaction to secularism will prevail; an extreme or misguided one will lead to chaos.

Did you read George Will's article yesterday? He was touting that the attacks against Christians are being over-rated and that we are acting like Chicken Little. I guess if they ever start carting us off to concentration camps, when the UN becomes the workld body, he will be saying, "Don't worry, folks...it's just the most radical element that even they couldn't control. There probably are overreacters everywhere, to everything, but I don't think they're anywhere near as significant as these articles make them sound. I live in the South, where they might be expected to be concentrated, and I'd never heard of them before. I would suspect that most of them keep away from secular society all together and probably belong to some fairly clannish little groups that do not actually engage in politics, or have very little following if they do.

But it's a useful concept for the left to use to attack religious people. It's like saying everybody opposed to abortion is a would-be Eric Rudolph.

Zealotry is as zealotry does. America's revolution and its defense have always been carried out by zealots. It's not really the zealots who worry me. People who manipulate others are rarely passionate about the issues they fire up in the objects of their influence; it's usually something else they want instead.

I took Mr. G. Will off of my list of must read articles when he wrote against the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

He is, at best, a "Bill of Rights is a menue" conservative, and, at worst, no conservative at all, which is probably a distinction without a difference.

IMHO, Will is no friend of the conservative movement. He wants to be accepted by the academy in the worst way.

It showed a picture of two women covered head-to-toe in Muslim burkas. "So here's the plan. Conservative Christians are going to 'take back' America. It just shows how wrong-headed, and fanatical, some of these characters are.

Personally, I don't give a rip if a person is religious or not, so long as he's law-abiding and decent toward others. I'm not interested in forcing anyone to believe in anything- but I don't like the hostility manifesting itself to any kind of faith, and I do believe the goal is to silence "anyone who would dare tell me what I am doing is wrong."
